Peaceful beauty 20 min from St John's
Sandra has created a comfortable, fully equipped and private space with astonishing views and a secure deck space the dogs loved. Sandra and Phil are the nicest people you could hope to meet and are a gold mine for local knowledge and attractions. We would stay longer if time allowed...

Great stay at the Murray House
A great place to stay very comfortable and quiet. Everything you could ever need was available so don’t worry if you forget something Sandra and Phil have you covered. Definitely recommend

A Great First Visit.
Cozy, comfortable, nicely decorated with pictures of local sites, fully functional house, 25 minutes from St John's, kind hosts close by to offer any assistance if needed, all in all a wonderful place to stay!

Everything about this rental was as it should be. The hosts were welcoming, shared ideas about places to visit in the area and responded quickly to a question. I was delighted to have such a great view of the cove while showering. The rocky hill next to the yard provided another delightful view of Pouch Cove. Take a chair or blanket to the rocks and enjoy morning coffee with a view. As it was very warm during our stay, I appreciated that each room had a fan. I only wished that the French doors to the deck had had a screen to enjoy the ocean breeze during the warm days. A family home your Nana would love.

Charming Pouch Cove
Our time in Newfoundland was amazing and part of the success of our trip was due to the vacation home we stayed at in Pouch Cove. The house had everything we needed and the hosts were so knowledgeable and available to talk to. The location is close enough to St. John's to travel back and forth with ease but far enough away to give a sense you are no longer in the big city. The view from the back deck and side yard is stunning and there were plenty of birds feeding while we were there. I would definitely stay here again if lucky enough to get back to Newfoundland.

Sandra and Phil, the property manager, were very kind and helpful and Responded quickly to all queries we had. The vacation home was well equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay. The internet and cable service were excellent. We enjoyed watching the birds and the whales.

Wonderful house and hosts
Well kept. Well stocked. Outdoor porch for dogs is wondErful to say the least. I was given the grand tour of wonderful hiking trails, Signal Hill, etc. Cannot praise this place and people enough.

Such a perfect stay....had all and more . Super clean and had more than we expected. Lots of room and all the extras. Recommend to couples. Sandra is a great photographer and her love of bird watching and knowledge is amazing. She also is willing to share local stories to enhance your knowledge of the area. Loved the helpful hints on things to see in the area and beyond. Pouch Cove is close to St. John's and Trans Canada HI way. Easy access to the Avalon Peninsula. Enjoy!

It was an absolute pleasure to have had the opportunity to welcome you both to our vacation home. We try to go out of our way to make our guest's stay memorable and, because we know that vacations are both a time to relax and to race to see as many "hot spots" as possible in a short time, I do take pleasure in providing information to help make all achievable. We have a couple of photo albums with personal pics of the area, its nature and wildlife, and some attractions in the city (25 min away). So glad you found our discussions of benefit. I also thank you for your kind words about my photography and love of birds. The photography is something that I will continue to develop; the birds, they are absolutely delightful to watch and to listen to as their precious voices fill the country air. The feeder is now well established and we are seldom without a feathered friend or tow (often many more) sitting on the patio ledges enjoying a feed. We really enjoyed having you both at our house and would welcome your return in the future should you find your way back to our area.

Great view and hospitality
Enjoyed the Murray house immensely! Sandra and Phil were very welcoming and gave us a tour of the house. Instructions for everything (tv,dishwasher,etc...) were posted for us. Cupboards and fridge were stocked with food and supplies. Beautiful view of the ocean. Patio was fenced off for our dog to wander. All kinds of bathroom amenities. Sandra and Phil thought of everything! Definitely worth a visit.

Outstanding hospitality! In a class of its own. We were a party of 5 (2 adults and 3 teenage children). This is more than just a holiday house, it was our home away from home with every modern convenience! Hosts are gracious and anticipated every little detail of what we might need. Advice to future guests who plan to use the kitchen: check the well stocked pantry BEFORE your trip to the grocery store. You might not need to buy a single thing. We home cooked about half of our meals and sometimes dined out. We enjoyed movies on the many big screens in the evening, and day trips to Signal Hill, Cape Spear, beautiful Brigus (starfish in the sea at the monument, near the Tunnel), Petty Harbour (there is a mini hands-on aquarium), and Bay Bulls (bout tour to the Puffin colony at Witless). There is a Wed/Sat farmers market in nearby St John's with locally grown produce. You will probably have a rental car anyway, so why not stay on the coast while you are here? The property is situated is such a way that you have spectacular views of the coast including sunrise and sunset. In addition to the two bedrooms, the living room has a reclining sofa and a futon that folds flat. The Murray home is attached to the home where Phil and Sandra live and they responded to the few questions that we had in minutes (if not seconds). Felt like home. Was home. Could not have been better. We love you guys.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Murray House and would not hesitate to stay there again. I have already recommended it to a friend. From the house which is fully stocked with anything you might need and the beautiful deck to relax on and great view of cove.Also you couldn't find nicer hosts like Sandra and Phil who are there to help with anything you may need.

Nice place!!
This place was perfect for our vacation!! Really close to the city and it's a nice drive! Amazing view from the deck and cliff! We were there with our 10 month old baby and it was stress free, the house had everything we needed and more! Highly recommended!!

Lovely VRBO Rental
We are so happy that we chose to spend a lot of our time at The Murray House in Pouch Cove. What a scenic spot! Sandra and Phil are wonderful hosts and go above and beyond in looking after their guests. I couldn't believe the amount of foodstuffs, towels, blankets etc that were provided. All the rooms are very comfy and cosy. There is a beautiful washer and dryer with everything you need to do laundry which is very helpful when you're trying to travel light. The deck overlooks the cove and we got some pretty views from there. I would not hesitate to recommend this VRBO to anyone looking to spend time in NL. It's only about 30 minutes from St. John's. Thanks again to Sandra & Phil!

Both my husband and myself were very happy and enjoyed the view and the gardens,.
Both my husband and myself were very glad that we were able to stay at Murray House. It was very clean, comfortable and well stocked with staples, like food, water, dishes etc. Sandra and Phil were very helpful and very friendly, and made us feel at home. Pouch Cove is only about 20mins, drive north of St. John's, which is great and close to the Trans Canada Highway. Would hopefully like to go back to Newfoundland someday as there is so much to see. Best bang for the buck on the island
Four of us stayed here for two nights at the start of a Newfoundland vacation. It was wonderful. We love Pouch Cove, and the house was clean, comfortable, and had a great view of the ocean (especially from the rocks just off the yard). Sandra and Phil go *way* above and beyond for their guests, and supply all sorts of basic necessities (far more than any other vacation property I've ever stayed in). They were very friendly and nice to chat with. When next I'm back in the area and looking for a place to stay, I'll be hoping to stay here again.

Expectations were exceeded and more
Property was well maintained , a beautiful community located just 15 minutes from the city. The owner supplied all the little things needed and more. Property with a view and in walking distance to much of the community and walking trails. Very comfortable two bedroom lodging with ample space for 6 and absolutely more than enough for 4. My son who stayed would rate 100 stars if possible. Great place to stay and highly recommend. Absolutely no complaints.
