"Lovely hotel in a charming town, but note that the floor you are on makes a big difference - we had lovely high ceilings and big windows but our friends were one level higher and had small windows - just the quirk of how the historic building was constructed. "The facility was brand new in Milna and associated with the Fortuna Hotel where we had breakfast. The breakfasts were excellent offering fare for all types of diets. The hotel staff was professional and quite pleasant. Milna is a quiet town outside Hvar. One concern about the facility would be for those with walking issues since it was situated on a hill and it was a steep walk to breakfast and the beach."

"Overall we had a wonderful stay at Valamar Amicor Resort and would be keen to return. The facilities are great and our children particularly enjoyed the variety of age-appropriate water slides and pool toys. Staff were helpful and considerate, particularly at check-in when we were invited to leave our bags and be escorted to dinner as it was late and approaching closing time. Food was sufficiently varied and of a high standard for buffet style; we never struggled for something to eat. Housekeeping seemed to vary throughout the week, sometimes excellent and sometimes a little sub-par. For example, on some days waste/recycling bins in our room were not emptied; on another, the bath mat was taken but not replaced so we had to improvise with a hand towel. The coffee machine in the room was also hit-and-miss; I think it needs replacing. At breakfast, the availability of barista-style coffee was inconsistent, with some waiting staff offering this proactively and some seemingly reluctant to do so. If you venture further (e.g. to the beach), there are some rather dilapidated buildings around which either need demolishing or redeveloping (I believe Valamar are planning to do so). For the horror buff, the beach near Arkana (next door hotel) features an abandoned coffee kiosk that looks like a post-apocalyptic movie set."

"This is a lovely house with beautiful views and tastefully decorated. We were two couples and the house was a comfortable size with two larger bedrooms with en suite baths. Make sure to get groceries at Jelsa on the way in, and note that on Sundays most grocery stores even in Jelsa are closed. The house is located above a quiet village, away from most tourist activities, which for us was perfect! There are pretty beaches and great wine tasting opportunities nearby. Jelsa is a charming, larger town just 25 minutes away, with Hvar town about 50 minutes away. We loved our stay here and appreciated the beauty and seclusion of the house! "
