This place is magical. We came across it by just our luck and boy were we happy. The hosts that welcomed us were so sweet and so welcoming and the food was outstanding! My husband had the Cullen skink chowder and the seafood linguini and it was incredible! Highly recommend this quaint spot. Take care on the road! It’s not for the faint of heart but worth it!

While the staff was extremely friendly, this place needs a manager. When the chef cooked, food was exceptional. However, even being warned that the breakfast was continental and only pizza was available on Tuesday nights, the pizzas were not good and the continental breakfast was difficult for me as I cannot have dairy. The room was beautiful and the view was bucolic. However, with a few tweaks, this place could be exceptional.

Tranquil retreat
It is a well situated hotel overlooking the water. It was quiet and tranquil. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was upgraded with a lovely view of the water. The room was comfortable and clean with a nice sitting area. We had a delicious meal in the dining room with great service on a quiet night at the end of the season.

We booked through Wotif app. The photos were misleading in almost all of them. Needs renovating peeling pain and dirty carpet. However clean beds and room. Staff didn’t seem happy. Told us to complain to our travel avant- once we get home🙄 felt stuck they’d already taken their payment and there was no other places available

The property is located in a very peaceful area. The staff is friendly. The views are beautiful and very serene. The wifi was spotty . The only issue we had was the water heaters did not provide much hot water. I would stay there again.

First, our room was very cozy and clean. We had good airflow from various windows which was super important during a very warm streak for Fall in Scotland. With that said, keeping windows open allowed in every single noise from any guest, even as late as 1am. Breakfast was lovely. While we do understand limited dining with how hard it is to find help these days, having a small fridge and/or microwave in the rooms would have been helpful for us to have our own food with limited dining in general!

We love the Redwood House and had a great experience there. It’s Located on a loch with beautiful views rain or shine. Room was great. And staff were wonderful, especially Brione and Chris. Thanks for taking such good care of us.

Redwood house has an incredible view of the ocean. It is set well off the main road, 2 miles, and let’s it’s guest feel like they are truly as far from the stress, strife and commotion of a city as one can be while still being pampered with good food and a well stocked bar.

If ever someone takes over this hotel it would be the best thing for it the owner is a rude pig other staff very lovely he was lucky he wasnt there when i checked out the guest's were lined up to complain about the property very expensive What ever you dont ask for a towel replacement or how to use there 20 year old television you will get a very rude answer. It must be the only hotel in the world with a 4pm Check in. If you have ever watched faulty towers its a comedy show about a hotel but this is not a funny show At Redwood its terrible.

Our room was the worst on the property. King bed should say European king because it is a queen. The rain shower head 10’ or so high had no controls except to stand under the shower head, turn on the water, which is cold of course and continue to stand under the cold water to adjust the water temp. They said the windows would open further but they did not. A double king room is so small with just one tiny chair, a queen size bed and no room for luggage etc. I believe we got the worst room because we booked with Expedia and they have to pay a fee. This was our 5th 4-night stay in the UK. All our rooms, but this one had a legitimate king bed, but the. Legitimate king bed would not fit in this tiny room. My husband is 6’6” and actually fell out of this little bed with injuries. I’ll stop now but there is more. Many guests were complaining about their rooms.

The Redwood House is off the beaten path which is one of the things we loved. In Greshornish, right on the loch, it was a great place for a morning or evening stroll down to the water or along the lane. The sheep, especially the lambs were really fun to watch. 🐑 Redwood House is a great, fairly central place from which we could drive from and explore the Isle of Skye. Our room was clean and the shower was nicely hot. And the bed? Oh the bed, soooo cozy comfortable! Breakfast starts at 8:00. It was very good, with plenty of options: fresh fruit, toast, croissants, danish, cheese, cold meat, hard boiled eggs, cereals, etc. but not a full hot breakfast spread (scrambled eggs, hash browns, haggis, bacon, etc.) Reserve dinner time in advance, for a good meal after a day of site-seeing. The staff are pleasant and very helpful. We enjoyed getting to know them and felt very welcomed. We would definitley stay here again.

Lovely stay here but would highly recommend getting to the premises before sunset if new to the area, as it is located in a desolate area that is unlit for two miles with many treacherous turns in the hill roads which surround a loch.

While the property is 1/2 hour drive from Portee it sits on a wonderful inlet which is extremely quiet. If you want to be away from city noises this could be for you

Peaceful country retreat by the water
Great location on the water, great staff, dinner was great, breakfast was continental - also great. Note the property is very isolated, which suited us but should be a consideration.

Good hotel, not so good location
the hotel is a very nice place to stay. The only problem we had with it is the location. It is a 2 mile drive down a bad road to get to it and it is 15 miles away from everything

Nice Scenic Location - Would Stay Again
Very nice - staff very responsive - quiet - nice breakfast - scenic setting - only disappointment was that bathroom is on first floor, so have to go up and down steps at night if needed. Would stay again.
