Upon arriving at the apartment from exploring the city, you will relax on the sunny terrace enjoying a Porto wine, against the background of the beautiful view of the “Duques” district with its tall trees. The apartment is located in an Art Nouveau style building of Porto. Its restoration work is the result of our commitment to this family project. On the entrance floor you will find a lounge where you can prepare your drink (we provide drinks to our guests), choose a book from the shelf in the hallway, listen to music, and breathe the atmosphere of the period, the typical atmosphere of a bourgeois house. of Porto from the turn of the 19th century to the 20th century Via the elevator or stairs you go up to the apartment floor. The apartment is very comfortable, bright and functional, even for longer stays. The openly eclectic decor is punctuated by pieces from different periods and origins. All these pieces are authentic and have been recovered. This is the only way to achieve true sustainability of the planet and respect for nature. All the old wood and beams in the house that had to be replaced were reused to make some furniture, namely the beds and headboards. Among classic furniture, an antique chest of drawers, a 19th century Portuguese settee, and an antique Chinese chest, you will find Portuguese furniture from the 70s and the iconic chair that the Portuguese designer José Espinho designed in the 60s for Olaio. The lighting is designed for you to enjoy great comfort. You will find different lamps from our collection, from the Hungarian wall lamps from a hotel in Budapest, to the Portuguese lamp from the 70s on the living room ceiling. The "Duques" neighborhood is the ideal option for your stay, it is the coolest neighborhood, with soul and charisma in the center of Porto. The Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto is located there. Here you will find quality local shops, art galleries, excellent restaurants and vegan options if you wish. The hosts, Manuela and Jorge went above and beyond with the special touches and amenities in the unit and the common sitting room. We enjoyed the fruit, chocolates, pastries and port wine. Everything is just as presented in the listing, very clean, beautifully decorated and well stocked with every convenience provided. Even beautiful dishes! Wish we could have stayed longer. This beautifully remodeled apartment was in an old beautiful tiled building from the 1930’s. They have a sitting parlor as you come in so we were able to leave our bags and relax, Manuela brought up a beautiful bowl of fruit and many bottles of wine and port. The owners provided us with every possible resource for our stay, and even did laundry for free. We sat down with them for an hour and learned the history of the building (built in 1911) including their history of purchase, and the 7- year renovation project by the architect owner. It was an easy Uber ride to the river district. There are several restaurants in the local area and a small grocery that met our needs (all within walking distance). The only negative we experienced was our car was blocked in the parking garage a couple of times and resulted in us having to change our plans for the day. The hosts were pretty responsive BUT do stress they do not offer consierge services. Port, wine, fruit, and pastries are available as part of the stay. ##### Janeen E. The location was perfect, walkable to everything but right outside so you had some quiet. We hung out on the balcony every night. The upstairs bedroom/spare living room was perfect for 2 couples, we felt like we had our own space. The space had everything needed, fresh fruit, wine, a few beers in the fridge. The check in process was seamless, we were met by Jorge and he walked us threw the apartment and took the time to provide us with local places to eat and where to shop for groceries. There was a lovely fruit basket, wine in the fridge and also some local port to try. The apartment had everything we required for our 8 day stay. I can’t think of anything they missed. The locations is perfect, you are able to walk everywhere. Sometimes you can have it all. This flat was wonderful with enough space to have some privacy and cozy at the same time. The balcony was a real bonus. The owners were very accommodating and there was none of the non-sense with "guest chores". The kitchen was fully stocked, and they thoughtfully provided a giant bowl of mixed fruits which we thoroughly enjoyed. The best part of this rental was location, location, location. This flat is in a quiet neighborhood so if you get too much sun or sangria you can easily nap. It is close to many restaurants and markets. Plus, many tourist sites are within a 10–20 minute walk. The metro, cable car, and river are equally close. The owners helped us arrange our airport transfers to and from the rental. We enjoyed our time in Porto very much and the thoughtful touches of the rental helped us unwind. ##### William S.
