It was alright. Room was okay. The staff overall weren’t so friendly, especially the breakfast and front desk staff. Dinner and bar staff were nice. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Stayed at Hotel Cristal as a group for a weekend away. Hotel was immaculately clean, rooms comfortable and breakfast selection was great. Especially loved the garden area for a relaxing drink and sit in the sun.

Had a wonderful Christmas time and the festive meals exceeded my expectations by far. Comfortable double bed (upgraded from single), lovely decor throughout the hotel topped up with beautiful Christmas decorations. Very clean. Good location, liked being a bit away from busy tourist area, had a feeling of real Porto atmosphere. Highly recommended and would love to return. Big obrigado to the team.

Great value for the price. You could easily spend much more and get less in another hotel. Very clean, well maintained, and up to date. Quiet and comfortable room and a generally quiet hotel, even when full, in a quiet neighborhood and street. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful staff. Will stay there again if I revisit Porto.

The staff were excellent. The hotel had problems with bathroom drains but was clean and rooms spacious. The distance from the centre was very misleading - much more than 15mins The breakfast was disappointing. I left my phone charger but the hotel will not return it I have to arrange collection of it - disappointing response.

We are happy to hear that almost everything meets your expectations, however we are very sad and disappointed with the mobile charger situation. As you can imagine, we can´t send all the items forgotten in our hotel for our guest for free. Furthermore, for several countries the Portuguese post company don´t send items so it has to be only by delivery or collect companies. We understand you frustration but it has not to be with the hotel but with the conditions of those companies, that we do not handle. It is always very important to know how to separate and know the differences between the hotel issues and possibilities and what is not from our competences. No complimentary water in the room unless you check with reception and have to specify that you are not buying water but requesting a promised complimentary water that you didn’t receive on the first night of your stay, otherwise, they will charge you naturally assuming you are trying to buy some water since you didn’t mention it at check-in because you should have received the water one way or another. They refused to admit that it was their mistake not to put a complimentary water in the room and claimed it was the guest who is misleading them. The first staff who checked me in said it should be on the table in my room. The second guy who assumed I wanted to buy a bottle of water said I should receive the complimentary one at check-in. Really funny. It feels like they are suspecting if I really didn’t receive the free water and they act like I’m trying to scam one small bottle of water from them. And it is 4-star hotel. And the room I booked was for two-people use since singles were sold out. And I can get only one small bottle of water only on the first night of my stay only by asking for it. Not even a second bottle or a large size. And they don’t even provide slippers for guests who do not have reservation for a suite. So I guess the eco-friendly is exclusively for guests who can’t pay for a suite.

Dear Guest, Good morning. We are very surprises of getting a "1" only because a bottle of water!!! regarding the slippers, perhaps you are mistaken but you have booked a twin room for single use. The slippers are only available on the suite, and that is mentioned. Where is the problem/mistake?

Amazing hotel, in a quiet part in the central area. You can walk to major landmarks in 10-15mins, lovely staff - because of COVID the breakfast arrangements where different but I had mine brought to my room and the suite was just magical with 2 baths and a balcony. Very clean hotel.

Hotels/Rooms are older than look in photos (Also hey are better off without those fake flowers in lobby and restaurants!) Comes with nice complimentary breakfast buffet though. The major reason I do not repeat or recommend this hotel is its location--far from main tourists area. Yes, you can take metro but still10 minutes walk (with hill!) from the station, and not dangerous but the neighborhood seems a bit sketchy to me.

All the pictures that you find on the internet are our correct and real rooms. Please tell us how the rooms are old if the hotel has only 3 years old? Have you stayed at the correct hotel??? Regarding the location of the same one - "far from the main tourists area" - if 10 minutes walking is too much for you than yes, we strongly recommend you that on the next time choose an hotel right up on the river/Ribeira, that way you don´t have to walk, however the rates aren´t the same as well. related with the neighborhood, our area is a residential and economical and shopping one, but we understand that it was "sketchy to you". Three days in Porto
Nice, clean, comfortable accommodation Located just outside the general tourist area but easy walking distance to most things. Helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet.
