We had a great stay. I would definitely stay here again. It was nice being so close to the water and we got to enjoy beautiful sunrises over the lighthouse.
We look forward to this trip every year. The location is great for just watching lake Huron. We decided to try the 3 bedroom cabin this year and it was amazing. The views from the back room was everything we hoped for.
Beautiful views of Lake Huron. Very relaxing and quiet.
Close to lighthouse park and beaches, ice cream and other fun things to do. We enjoyed our stay.
Our stay in Cabin #6 was incredible. The price and hospitality could not be beat for our week long vacation. The cabin is rustic but cozy and has all the amenities you could possibly need. Plenty to see and do in the area too.
Plus you cannot beat the view of Lake Huron and the Pointe aux Barques Lighthouse just outside the window!
Doing a little autumn tour of the thumb area. Cottage was just what we needed: plenty of space, pleasant setting, comfortable bed and furnishings, newly redone kitchen & bathroom. We were able to relax and visit the area. Would recommend.
I was looking for a place to stay for the week as we worked in Bad Axe. Waaay nicer than a hotel! How nice it was after working all day to come back to this cute place. Hosts were amazing, and gave welcome advice for dining, etc.
For those who enjoy wave watching, star gazing, and Great Lakes freighters bingo, this is a great location! Every day brought new delights. The cabin is well cared for and comfortable. Location next to the lighthouse park is an added bonus. Highly recommend!
This is our second time staying at this place. We come in the winter just to take a weekend retreat, so it's very quiet when we're here. There is a nice back room to sit and watch the lake, where we usually eat and play cards. Place is perfect for what we need, and we'll most likelt be back again.
Overall it was great, queen size bed was a little uncomfortable for both my hisband and I as we sunk into the middle, so he did sleep on the couch. The view was amazing, the sunset and rises were absolutely beautiful. My 94 year old grandma chose this place and it suited her well. She already wants to go back in the winter.
Everything about this place from cleanliness to having everything we needed to communication with the host to the spectacular view was THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! We were there at the end of February for a girl’s weekend and it was COLD- the host dropped off more firewood for us within minutes when we ran out so we could keep our fire going!!! We will DEFINITELY be back!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
This was a nice and relaxing place to stay. My husband was recovering from surgery and needed peace and quiet to heal. The views were fantastic, and the sound of the surf was soothing. We came when there was snow and ice, but the next day the sun came out and it was warm enough to melt it all. Even the day it rained had a nice sound as the rain hit the roof. And we enjoyed the swans, geese, ducks and seagulls.
We came here for a winter weekend getaway with my in laws and our kids. The cabin was exactly as described - rustic, traditional and cozy. Even though there was a winter storm outside, we were warm with a fabulous view of Lake Huron. We even got to watch it turn frozen over our 3 days. TV streaming worked perfectly as did the wifi and plenty of hot water. The host was always in communication with us even though we did not have any issues.
These cabins at lighkeepers is so inviting and relaxing. They have everything you need, just bring food and yourselves and relax while you're here. The water is the main event, some days it's really calm and serene, other days it's crazy with wind, waves and loud, either way I'm happy to enjoy it always. The hosts are so awesome and always on their toes if we need anything and prompt at messaging back. We will return next year for our 4th year!! The lighthouse is a few steps away also! Just beautiful!!!
It was cozy and warm. Kitchen had everything we needed. 4 season toom is awesome. Played game there and even seen 3 swans. The only complaint i have is not enough lighting in the kitchen. Light above stove didnt work. And no light above kitchen nook. We had to eat our dinner in the 4 season room.
Oh where do I begin? If youre only thinking about booking this place, just book it! The pictures do it no justice. Its beautiful, spacious, the views are incredible! The property owners are so sweet and welcoming and even helped us with an issue we had with our utility trailer. Im from pa, and never thought id fall inlove with Port Hope the way I did. 20 min down the road is a beautiful beach that was never overcrowded in a small quaint town full of friendly people. I loved our stay so much that im sure one day we will be back to cabin 6. Maybe without kids next time lol. I didnt want to ever leave!
We came here for a short getaway for my 50th birthday. I just wanted to be on the lake and this cabin was the perfect place. We arrived and it was pouring rain and so so windy. I thought for sure it would be cold and damp inside. But it was perfectly dry and nice and warm! The next day it cleared up and we got to enjoy going on the deck and watching the swans and the freighters. That night the sky was clear and the stars were amazing. It would be great to stay at this property during a meteor shower. If it hadn’t been the end of December we would have enjoyed walking to the lighthouse park. More light in the kitchen would have been nice.
The view is incredible you feel like you are at the end of the world. The cabin was clean and we had everything we needed for a late fall weekend away. Absolutely would visit again.
