The owner is very nice and has thought of everything that you need in the flat, so you need to take nothing much with you. "We stayed in a two-bedroom suite at Gara Suites. The hotel offers good value for money, but overall I feel it is closer to a 3-star hotel than the 4 stars it advertises. The suite was spacious, but it only had one bathroom. The room description also stated a golf course view, but our balcony overlooked a construction site. From around 8–9am every morning there was loud construction noise, and dust covered our balcony and clothes. We also expected a kitchen, but there wasn’t one. There were no tea or coffee facilities, only one bottle of water, and we had to request a kettle from reception. The housekeeping staff were excellent, especially the gentleman cleaning Block 4 on the third floor. He was always friendly, polite and kept our room spotless every day. Breakfast had a good selection and was enjoyable. The biggest disappointment was the seafood buffet. We paid before entering as instructed, but while dining another staff member asked for our room number and wrote it down. The next morning, another employee wrongly claimed we hadn’t paid. Thankfully I had kept my receipt. This showed a serious lack of communication between staff, which was frustrating and embarrassing. The spa was relaxing, but it required an extra charge despite the hotel promoting itself as a Golf & Spa resort. The pool was pleasant but quite small with very limited shade. The location is also far from the town centre, we had to rely on taxis throughout our stay. A shuttle bus would make a difference"

"I stayed here for one night as an airport stopover. I must admit I do not understand the terrible reviews. Yes the decor in the rooms is basic and a little tired. But the bedding, towels and room was very clean. It’s a 24H reception which is perfect for late arrivals and breakfast is included. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is buffet style with a great selection. It’s close to the bus stop to the airport and the bus takes 5mins and cost c€2 The little town it’s in has several coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shops/supermarkets. I couldn’t fault it for an overnight stay If you want 5star don’t stay here but if you want value for money for a short stay, with a friendly service and good surrounding amenities I would recommend"

"This is the third time I’ve stayed here and it just keeps getting better. We had a villa that sleeps 6, which was a double with en-suite, a twin room and a double fold down bed in the living room. I was excellent with a large patio that got the sun all day. The villa had everything you could ask for, cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryers, ironing board, perfect. The pool area was pretty quiet due to it being the quiet season but it was lovely. The pool bar was fantastic with the Inti steak wrap an absolute winner. (Make sure you order it the day before) The area is perfect for a relaxing holiday with the Golden Bay Chinese restaurant a stand out. Our only disappointment was that Golf Del Sur golf course was close longer than expected, so we never got to play it. Amarilla golf is five minutes away so didn’t spoil the holiday. Every single member of staff that we came across was excellent, they constantly kept in touch via WhatsApp and provided us with excursion suggestions and local events. Look forward to returning."

"Loved the entertainment area around the pool. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean and tidy. Check in and out extremely efficient. Great views from.the rooms. Shuttle bus handy and very friendly driver. Honesty bar amazing idea for late check in. Breakfast was extremely busy so worth getting there early or last minute. We had the top floor so very quiet at night and got an amazing sleep. No scraping of furniture on the floors late at night!!! Would definitely consider staying again"
