"Cabin was very clean and peaceful"

"This is a motel not a hotel. It was clean but the staff woke us up early on my last day complaining about someone our floor smoking. It wasn't us so we got disturbed for nothing. "

"The room was nice a cool. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the mornings there were grits! Coffee was good, three choices. Tea was available. Water was available at the front desk, but it would have been nice to have water provided in the room on arrival. The bed was comfortable and there were no loud sounds or disturbances. I was very happy and will stay there again when I’m in town. Lots of fast food options close by. "

"This place is definitely one of the most unique VRBOs we’ve ever rented. Our family of five had the best time on this property: we hand-fed deer literally from the back yard, kayaked the canal, explored the property on the golf cart and on the numerous walking trails, spent a day relaxing and fishing at the lake on the private beach, and spent our time at the house playing basketball, corn hole, and making fireside smores. The property was surprisingly stocked with all you need in the kitchen, and Bill and Karen were very kind and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back. Lots of memories made! Thanks for a great week!"

"My room was not clean when I went to the bathroom , there was the previous occupant towel still hanging in the shower, cigarette butt from the previous occupant in the shower and the new towels that was supposed to be cleaned were stained, and there was hair in them and the shower. When I opened the refrigerator, a roach fell out when I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night because they refused to move me to a cleaner room. There were a family of roaches in the bathroom. I went to the front desk and asked them, Could they move me in a clean room and they told me that there wasn’t any available but I walked passed plenty vacant non-smoking one bed rooms downstairs that they refuse to give me. they put me in a smoking room when I booked a non-smoking room. I will never go back to this location and I urge anyone reading this do not go here. The continental breakfast that they advertise was the bare minimum and if their rooms look like that, I wouldn’t want to eat anything that they prepare. Save your money. I can see why they have a non refundable policy. "

"Hometown Hideaway is a wonderful place to stay. Very warm, inviting and well maintained. We felt at home right away. Our host was very responsive and answered all our questions. We spent the majority of our time using the three outside living places which made our time there relaxing and enjoyable. The pool area is spectacular. We only wish the weather had been a little nicer so we could have used that area more. The pond brings in geese, ducks and other waterfowl. We were even visited by a couple of chickens! If you are looking for a place that is private and just a short distance from Gulfport, this is an excellent option. We highly recommend Hometown Hideaway. "
