Blue Gem Beach House is a wonderfully cozy 3 bedroom, 3 bath oceanfront home located in South Ponte Vedra Beach. When you arrive at the house, you'll find plenty of parking on the large, pavered driveway. Upon entering the home, you are greeted by a cozy sitting/dining area. The dining table seats 6\. The adjoining sitting area has a sofa and ottoman. From these areas, you can enjoy the views of the ocean. The galley style kitchen is fully loaded with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a breakfast bar with seating for 3\. The kitchen is furnished with plenty of cookware, dinner ware, and anything you would need to make your favorite meal or beverages. Beyond the kitchen is a den with 2 sofas, coffee table and a large TV with soundbar and subwoofer. Great for watching movies or sports. There is a full bathroom on this level that features a beautiful tub and shower combination. There is also a laundry room on the ground level. All of the bedrooms are located upstairs. The master bedroom is very spacious and offers wonderful views of the beach and ocean. Sleep tight in the king bed while listening to the sounds of the waves on the beach. Wake to the sun rise over the ocean or pull the curtains shut to sleep in. There is a sliding door that leads out to the screened balcony, overlooking the ocean. There is a TV mounted on the wall. The master bathroom has a nice, walk-in shower, sink, and toilet. There is a desk area in this bedroom with a monitor and printer, which makes for a great place to get a little work done or research where to go on your next adventure. The second bedroom is also on the ocean side of the house. It has a queen bed, dresser, TV, and also a door that leads to the screened balcony. The third bedroom has a twin-over-twin bunk bed, with an additional twin mattress in the trundle underneath. Perfect for kids or a single adult, this bedroom also has a TV. The second and third bedrooms share a full bathroom, with a walk-in shower, sink, and toilet. Some of the best features of the house are found outside! The second floor has a screened and covered balcony on the back of the house. This is a great area to enjoy the breeze, and views of the beach while staying out of the sun. On the south side of the house, upstairs is an open deck, with full sun exposure so you can work on that tan without getting sandy from the beach. Downstairs is a large pavered patio that leads to the beach stairs. There is an outdoor grill, outdoor shower and plenty of seating on the patio, as well as a table for enjoying lunch outside. At night, gather the group around the stone firepit while enjoying the stars above. Blue Gem is located in South Ponte Vedra Beach, just about 10 minutes north of historic St. Augustine and 15 minutes south of TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra. In St. Augustine you will find countless restaurants, bars, gift shops, historic sights and more. My kid's personal favorite attraction is the Alligator Farm and Zoological Park. There are plenty of golf courses in the area, for all levels, so bring your clubs! We are 55 minutes from the Jacksonville International Airport. Disney is a 2 hour drive and Daytona is 1\. There are several great restaurants on our island. There is a Publix less than 10 minutes away and a convenience store just 1 mile away. My favorite things about our beach home are the views over the ocean and walking the beach. Watching the sun and moon rise over the ocean is stunning. It makes for a great start and end to each day. We are far enough away from town centers to have great star gazing on a clear night. We love to walk the beach in the morning. This natural beach is renowned by shell and shark tooth hunters. A Megalodon tooth was found just 1 hour north last year after a storm. Finally, the beach is very private with the nearest public access points more than one mile away in either direction. Our favorite places to go out are Cap's On the Water and Aunt Kate's just 5 minutes away, Nona Blue, Mr Chubby's Wings (great for sports fans), Valley Smoke. We also love walking the historic cobblestone streets in St. Augustine where there are countless bars and restaurants to explore. Our favorite golf destinations are the World Golf Village where there are two courses, Bill Murry's Caddyshack restaurant and the World Golf Hall of Fame, The Yards, Queens Harbor, St. Johns Country Club, Eagle Harbor and of course the legendary TPC Sawgrass. TPC Sawgrass has two courses, the world famous stadium course where The Players Championship is held every year and Dye's Valley. Both are very difficult so bring lots of golf balls. The Stadium course is very expensive, Dye's Valley can be more reasonable. The property was exactly as described, clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The entire yard is fenced, so our dog was safe and able to enjoy being off leash. The firepit was a great feature, especially in the evening with the ocean breeze. The grill worked perfectly and even had a full tank of propane, with a spare ready just in case. The hosts were awesome and checked on us throughout our stay to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The home was perfect for us as it was right on the beach! The property was as described and VERY clean! We loved the fire pit right there by the ocean! So relaxing! The only "issue" was getting to the beach from the steps. Erosion made it difficult to navigate. It was obvious the hosts had attempted to make improvements by building up the sand at the steps but Mother Nature was already breaking down the sand. My spouse - who has mobility issues - was unable to actually get down to the beach because of the erosion. Thankfully the view was incredible so she was able to enjoy the ocean without actually going down to the beach. I will note other properties near them had the same issue so it wasn't just this property. And some were even worse than this property! Doggie Parents: The property is welcoming of doggies and the beach is dog friendly (on leash). However, finding a place to take the dog to do his "business" was difficult as there isn't any flat, grassy areas on the property. The weather kept us indoors , but Mom always had a terrific view. Windy an cold, she sat inside at the patio doors and slept and ate with a perfect view. Had the best time with our family. Highly recommend this house if you are looking for a peaceful beach experience with your family. Great location. Just a short drive to all the cool shops and restaurants in the area. A week was not enough time to explore everything St. Augustine has to offer, we just have to go back next summer!
