Sehr schöner Ort mit vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Alle Orte im Minho sind mit dem Auto schnell erreichbar. Das einzige Störende war, dass immer wieder Autos gegenüber der engen Einfahrt parkten. Wir haben hier einen tollen Urlaub verbracht, nicht zuletzt auch wegen dem Besitzer. Dieser hat uns bei allem sehr geholfen (z.B. eine Parkstrafe zu bezahlen) und war immer erreichbar und sofort zur Stelle wenn wir eine Frage oder Bitte hatten. Wir kommen sicher wieder hierher, es ist absolut empfehlenswert. Im Haus mit seinen geräumigen, sehr gemütlichen Zimmern, am schönen Pool im sehr ansprechenden Außenbereich haben wir dann einen sehr schönen Urlaub genießen können . Das Haus liegt in einem typischen dörflichen Stadtteil von Ponte de Lima und die Innenstadt ist fußläufig sehr gut zu erreichen. Hier kann man am Abend, teilweise bei Live-Musik, den Tag ausklingen lassen. Heel mooi en goed gelegen, op wandelafstand van Ponte de Lima. Het zwembad is proper en tof met volop privacy. Alles is voorzien voor een prachtige middag of avond aan het zwembad en een barbecue in zon of schaduw, tussen de bloemen en appelsienbomen. Het meubilair is typisch oud Portugees, heel mooi maar met kleine en harde bedden. (slechts één bed is wat zachter) Keuken is in orde en proper. De living is de trap af, een grote gezellige nogal donkere ruimte. Het ruikt er ondanks de ontvochter steeds muf. De stereo werkt niet, Internet wel. TV niet gebruikt. We waren er buiten de zomer en sliepen met de ramen (met veel kieren) dicht. Tijdens de zomer zal je wellicht last hebben van burenlawaai, blaffende honden, het (zeer vriendelijke) café rechtover en de bijhorende garagewerkplaats-carrosier. Niet aangeraden voor wie gevoelige oren heeft of échte rust wilt. Ga je voor de mooie streek en dorpen, toer je veel rond en wil je 's avonds genieten van het zwembad en een goede pint, dan is het perfect. De niet gebruikte kledij is toch in de was beland, want alles rook muf. De uitbaters die iets verder wonen zijn heel vriendelijk en de fles lokale wijn stond ons te verwelkomen. Het was even zoeken, maar toen hadden we ook wat in een heel gewoon Portugees straatje, achter een enorme metalen poort hebben we een week lang heerlijk vakantie gevierd. In de enorme, omheinde tuin met olijf- en citroenbomen kon onze hond lekker haar eigen gang gaan. Casa da Castanheta is een prima vakantiehuis met een ruim zwembad, en niet te vergeten uitstekend wifi. Dat laatste is voor onze dochters van 13 en17 jaar een absolute must om contact te houden met de rest van de wereld. We hebben een paar (avond)wandelingen gemaakt naar Ponte de Lima met een heel pittoresk centrum op een kwartiertje lopen. Maar ook grotere trips naar Viana do Castelo, Braga en Porto waren heel goed te doen. Leuke plek! Tip oorwatten mee, want 's nachts laten de honden in de buurt regelmatig flink van zich horen. Fam. Porto en Braga op 60\\/30 minuten rijden, de zee op 20 km (half uurtje)Enig nadeel is dat er in de buurt veel honden zijn die de nachten blaffend doorbrachten. Heel leuk dat we ook mochten genieten van het fruit uit de tuin. Een bezoek aan Porto (mét proeverij) mocht niet ontbreken. Een rit doorheen het nationaal park Peneda Geres is eveneens de moeite waard. De woning is goed inge ... Zeer mooie en verzorgde woning in een prachtige omgeving. De woning is goed ingericht, ideaal voor een gezin met oudere kinderen en jong-volwassenen. Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaars. Perfecte uitvalsbasis voor het verkennen van de streek. Veel gezellige en heel leuke stadjes in de buurt. Guimaraes en Porto zijn echte aanraders. Maar ook Braga en Bom Jesus, de monding van de Minho en Peneda-Gerês mag je zeker niet missen. Enkel de hond van de overburen kan 's nachts voor wat lawaai zorgen!
