""Dependances" means the "old independent almost abandoned building", far from the main one where the reception and almost good rooms are. A kind of nightmare. The kind of place you feel like leaving at once, and you are waiting for the time of the departure. I succeeded to move to a room in the main building, and it was better. A little bit better. Everything is old, communist era fashion, and worse, all carpets are dirty, not by the fault of the cleaning ladies who make all they can, but...

"This property was designed and built for Czech citizens. It is not a place for foreigners who are used to updated and elegant services. They have a buffet dinner server for 3 hours with limited options. Really everything here is designed for Czech Nationals and they seam to enjoy this place but it is not up to standards for your personal westerner. The place is designed in the soviet erra so it looks like a prison. But the views and area is absolutly outstanding"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Polnička?
The best area to stay in Polnička is directly within the village centre, particularly near the Polnička pond and the Church of Saint Bartholomew.

This area provides a quiet, authentic village experience, with easy access to the main attractions. You'll find a few local pubs and guesthouses, and the surrounding countryside is ideal for outdoor activities. The village itself is small, so everything is within easy walking distance.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will appreciate the tranquillity and scenic walks around the pond and through the fields. It's an excellent base for exploring the Vysocina region's natural beauty and historic towns, with many hiking and cycling paths starting right from the village.

Families will also find the village centre appealing due to its relaxed atmosphere and open spaces. The Polnička pond offers opportunities for gentle strolls, and children can enjoy the freedom of the countryside.
When is the best time to go to Polnička?
The best time to visit Polnička is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is warm and ideal for outdoor activities.

During this period, you'll experience pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 25°C, making it superb for exploring the beautiful Vysočina countryside. This is also when the area's many lakes and hiking trails are at their most inviting. The longer daylight hours mean you have more time to enjoy everything the region has to offer.

For families, summer is particularly good as it coincides with school holidays, allowing for a relaxed trip focused on nature and recreation. You can enjoy cycling around Velké Dářko Lake, visiting the nearby Žďár nad Sázavou UNESCO site, or simply relaxing by the water. Many local events and markets also take place during these warmer months, providing extra entertainment.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the serene landscapes and opportunities for leisurely walks or boat trips on the lakes. The summer evenings are mild, superb for enjoying a quiet dinner at a local restaurant or a stroll under the stars.
