"The bathroom fan, which was also the light, sounded like a motorcycle chopper. The floor above sounded like someone was going to fall through the ceiling. The bed was comfortable but the sheets were rough. The breakfast was pretty much non existent. We were pretty disappointed."

"We stayed here while participating in the Canaan Valley half marathon /10K /5K. The home was clean and cozy just as described and met all our needs for the weekend. Easy access to multiple other areas of interest. Nice home with well equipped kitchen, large outdoor terrace, comfortable living room. "

"Within minutes of Thomas and Blackwater falls. This was a wonderful place for me and my boyfriend to stay at. It was central and made things so much easier especially cause we dont know our way around. I definitely would recommend this place, just for the sights alone. I will say my only note would be adding a sign or a little sticker that steps may be slippery with socks on, my boyfriend fell down three on the first day, but all was good. We just made sure to not wear socks going down the steps."

"The rental company is outstanding. Canaan Realty takes care of you. But this house was awful. Grill was rusted and falling apart. Kitchen was old. Oven was filthy. Film of grease on the stove. Pans were very old and scratched up and should be thrown away. Basement sliding door lock was broken and taped. Fireplace seemed clogged, smoke filled the living room. Deck and deck table are old and rough. The owners don’t appear to put any money into anything in the house. I do not recommend staying here. Canaan Realty has many better houses. "
