It is quite a remote property which was a little nerve wracking at first as our signal was limited but the setting is worth it. Only about 20 mins to St Peters. "Nice log cottage sitting on Diana Mountain with a nice view of Bras d’Or Lake. The night skys are fantastic. The cottage is secluded. It is about a 35 minute drive to the nearest store of any kind so if you want to get away from everything it is perfect. Stock up before you go. The cottage has high speed internet and good cell phone reception to keep you in touch with the outside world. If you are planning on taking in a lot of the sights of Cape Breton Island then plan on a lot of driving."

The deck is large and has plenty of room to enjoy meals and coffee in the morning with panoramic lake views and passing sail boats. Great little spot to renew your spirit

"This was a great place to reset your self from the hectic life we tend to live. Sitting by the fire place, seeing the stars, hearing the oceans gentle breathe what more could you ask for? I guess maybe a hot tub. wifi, a full kitchen and maybe a nice comfy bed yes those are all included as well. We were able to explore the area and was shocked that nobody else seem to even know this place existed. We walked a good three hours on the beach without seeing another soul. So if you are looking for some peace and tranquility you can certainly find it here. Thanks to Chris for being a great house and just allowing us to share your beautiful space it is a great honor. "

Great Stay

"We stayed for the long weekend with our adult children and their spouse (6 of us). Fisherman's Cottage was perfect for us. There was lots of room for everyone, and what a view!! The kitchen was well equipped and let us prepare a celebration meal. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub. What a treat!! We would visit again."

"lovely pool and play area for families. we rented a cottage which had a mini kitchen so very handy for making a meal. in room coffee machine, microwave, fridge, stove etc. lovely view from windows looking out at the water. very quiet and well maintained property."

"This was the perfect stay for a quiet, relaxing vacation. The dining room was perfect for eating together, or board games. With the patio entrance at the end of the table it offered a refreshing breeze and a beautiful view. The owner was wonderful at offering suggestions of things to do, and local events happening in the area. The beach near the property was lovely for cooling off, watching the sea life, and looking for sea glass. The community was super friendly and welcoming, and all of the dogs around were well behaved and friendly. If you're looking for a quiet stay, with beautiful views, beaches, and walking trails, then this is the place for you! "
