We found the staff to be pleasant, attentive and friendly. The hotel is well situated next to the Drake mall and under 10 minutes downhill to the Barbican (fun navigating through the 6 foot wide lanes!). Take the lift to - 1. Very good value for the facilities provided and surpasses rival budget chains on price and location. Although next to a busy dual carriageway, the double glazing and air-conditioning blot out most of the noise. Breakfast was fine and the Engligh is well cooked, albeit limited to 7 items. Pastries run out fast and bananas don't exist! Plymouth is a large University city and so if you prefer a more sedate visit then avoid term times - offering you 4 months in the year. Leonardo does well in this hotel. Enjoy your stay - we did!

Really great welcome, even though we didn’t get there until nearly midnight. Comfortable clean rooms, only real let down was the coffee at breakfast, not the greatest and tasted too bitter, otherwise lovely hotel, location and would recommend.

The hotel was central to the Barbican area which was within easy walking distance. The room was comfortable and the shower hot. Parking was available close to the hotel.

Great location for a stay with most locations to visit within a fifteen minute walk. The hotel lobby smells lovely. The rooms are clean and comfortable with good facilities including a decent hairdryer and towels changed daily. The staff on reception are firmest and helpful. The breakfast is lovely with a good variety of choice. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel many times previously. Despite being a GOLD VIP member, I never get any room upgrade or any recognition at all....despite of my asking requesting very politely! The room on this occasion was terrible! So cramped and small for a double room. Space between the bed and the window and curtains was about 1 ft only! I had to walk in sideways ...otherwise I would have hurt my feet each time! Needs having a look at.

Codie the lady at reception who greeted us was lovely, she saw we was staying for a birthday celebration and upgraded our room and gave use a free bottle of bubbles which was really lovely of her to do… staff we engaged with on our stay were friendly . Excellent central hotel, modern, with very comfortable beds. A nice bar with decent food and drink, and a surprisingly good included breakfast. Shops, restaurants, Main Street and marina literally across the road. Only negative was that it was not made clear that the parking is not included in the fee - £10 for 24 hrs.

Staff friendly, polite and helpful. Room clean and comfortable, but hotel is on a busy road which shouldn’t be a problem if the double glazing worked. It doesn’t and every sound from outside can be clearly heard (even passers-by conversations). Walls are bit thin also, so take ear plugs if you want/need a good sleep. Shower strength is a bit weak which is frustrating. Good selection at breakfast at a reasonable price. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay but needs improving if I’m going to stay there again.

Generally good, bed is very comfortable
The hotel is in a good central location, The room felt slightly dated but it was roomy, clean and the bed was really comfortable. the food was ok - and the staff were very nice. the fire alarm when off about 8 times due to a fault and the place did not handle it great. information was poor and people where getting up and down the stairs

Robbie checked us in, very friendly and knowledgeable. Needed a second set of towels and the person we spoke to said they had a shortage of towels… not sure how you can have a shortage of towels. Needs to have two per room if two guests not just one bath towel per pair. Unclean and unhygienic

Had a couple days away with the other half, lovely room with the exception of an unusable plug socket that seemed to have something stuck in it. The sink in the bathroom had a dirty underside. We ordered room service and had to go down to reception and the staff didn’t seem to understand the process, which led to us having to pay more than was needed. There was also a charge for the room service and the food when it arrived was cold and watery. On day of checkout we were awoken by the cleaner knocking even though we had a late checkout and then had a call from reception to ask us about when we were leaving. Which seemed down to incorrect records of booking by the staff, not a bad stay but I’ve experienced a far superior hotel stay from this chain at the Leonardo Hotel in Amsterdam.
