We got there and it was a 1960's motel, small rooms, no a/c. Our "porch" was a screened in area at the back of the room. It was cold -- and we could't figure out how to close the window in the bathroom without taking out the screen. Small room, very clean. Must say the lake and boat landing were spectacular -- good thing, as the "continental breakfast" didn't come with a place to eat it!! "On Golden Pond' was filmed here and the lake is restful and great for families with kids or couples on romantic getaway. The folks who own it take obvious pride in its appearance and are always available if anything is needed. It is not fancy, but very clean and nicer than most rustic hotels I've seen.There is fresh coffee and breakfast snacks ready early. The units have heat for early fall and a lovely screened porch facing the lake so you can play cards. The price is very good. We stayed at peak foliage and it was very affordable. They also have summer weekly rates that are very very affordable. Free use of canoes, kayaks and a lovely sandy beach are less than 75 feet from all units and there is a great General Store nearby (has great breakfast food and good wine selection) and an outstanding restaurant less than 1/2 mile away.
