Our room was very spacious, clean and well situated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, we were very disappointed that the breakfast did not include Mère Poulard’s famous omelette. When I asked I was told that it is a lunch and dinner thing. We had a wine tasting in Bordeaux for later that day so we could not stay and wait for one.

The problem was trying to find the door code to get in. We did not know, we have to go to another place to check in to get the door code. Needs to be more clear. The only reason, we found the check in place, was one the cleaning staff, showed us where to go. If all 3 hotels are connected to one place for check in, please make it clearer on the email instructions. We were not the only ones, there was another couple with the same issue. Could not find the code to get in the hotel. We had an issue at the parking lot for Relais St Michel, he said we needed a code. We did not have one to park. In the end, the attendant let us in, but we had to pay on the way out. Again, I checked the email, but there was not code to get into the parking for the night. Breakfast was good. Hearty. And of course, St Michel. fantastic

The best thing about this hotel is the view. The rooms are ok (carpet a bit old, bathrooms could use remodelling) and on the small side. Pool was nice but very small and narrow and not particularly warm, so we didn’t stay in very long. The pool has a great view over the water and the views from the hotel rooms are stunning. The breakfast was quite basic with not many options and cost €35 plus fees. Overall the hotel and breakfast were not good value. The staff member who offered to give us a ride to our next hotel was very helpful. It wasn’t clear where to go to get the ferry and we did ask staff questions about the ferry routes, etc., but perhaps there was a language barrier. There’s a way to walk directly from the ferry terminal to the hotel, which we discovered ourselves on the way back! Staff didn’t offer to book any excursions for us. The price didn’t seem to match the luxury experience we expected. (My friend’s room was over $700 a night, mine was $548). Great views and the wine and cocktails are highly recommended!
