Sandia Mountain hiking trails start right out the back door, while still being within 20 minutes of downtown Albuquerque. Our nearest neighbors are 500 feet away and all around us are stunning vistas of the city and incredible views of the mountains. If you love being in the wilderness, this is the most secluded place you will find on the west side of the mountain. And for our summer guests, escape the heat in the higher altitude. Please note: For our winter guests, from December 15 through February 28 I require 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicles to be a guest. The apartment was very clean and well furnished with all the amenities you could need. It is very quiet and you have complete privacy. We would recommend that you have a high clearance SUV because the drive down the dirt road is a bit challenging at times. But when you walk into the apartment, you’ll know it was worth the challenge. I was a little worried it would be hot with no AC but the ceiling fans and placement on the mountain make all the difference. We enjoyed our stay and really appreciated all the attention to detail like liquid soap in the bathroom, paper towels, dishwasher packs and laundry pods, trash bags. We have stayed at other places and they don't provide anything which is difficult when you fly instead of drive to your destination. The best unofficial perk of this stay is the welcome committee. Indigo and Pickles (dogs). They are friendly and love kids which was nice for us. They stay upstairs officially but if you are lucky they will greet you from time to time. ##### Christine R.
