Villa with a Spectacular view of the Gulf plus Resort Amenity Access, A3624A

Stay at Palm Island Resort, located on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast, is the state’s only true-out island resort. No bridges or causeways to the island exsist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting. The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island. Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.
Enjoy access to one of the 5 heated pools, plus hot tub and gas BBQ grills at each pool area. 11 hard tennis courts available for play and always complimentary. Our recreation center, Coconuts, offers a variety of rentals to include golf carts, bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas. Our full service concierge can also arrange for everything from massages to fishing charters. Join a complimentary water aerobics class, nature walk or yoga on the beach when scheduled. Whether you wish to spend your time with us on the go or taking it slow, you’re sure to enjoy your new Memories at the Speed of Old Florida.

This was the perfect unit with unobstructed views of the ocean from the dining/ living room and back screened porch. There was a boardwalk onto the beach right behind the unit. The pool and hot tub were closely located as well as the grilling area. The grills are very clean and have natural gas hook up so no need for charcoal. The condo has an icemaker in the fridge. The washer and dryer are small but perfect for a few outfits and super convenient. The condo comes with a small dish soap, sponges, two coffee pods for the drip maker and couple coffee condiment sets. The kitchen was well equipped to make meals. Pack light because the unit is 3 flights of stairs up but that also allows for unobstructed views of the gulf. The condo is also a very short distance to Coconuts, the ice cream and coffee shop, and where golf cart rentals are available. I can’t say enough good about the resort! The beach is amazing and totally uncrowded. We would definitely stay in this condo again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented a one bedroom villa. Since you cannot bring your car onto the property we had a golf cart for the two days we were there ($50 per day). Driving the cart to the northern end of the island, we found dozens of shark teeth and make shells we saved to take home. This made our stay as my wife is a veteran shark tooth collector od many years. Only one restaurant to eat at but it was good and reasonably priced. You can take the water taxi just behind the restaurant to the only other nearby restaurant (Leverocks) for a larger menu and higher prices. Lots of tennis courts, pools, well maintained property, great staff, would go there again for 3-4 days but probably would be bored for a longer stay.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The staff at palm Island are friendly and very helpful, It is a quiet and relaxed location, I loved walking on the beach with the wife every morning. The restaurant is very nice, food is good the bartenders are great, but it closes at 9pm. Overall we had a very nice stay. I did however book my room almost two months in advance. We booked a first floor room with wood floors. A week before we arrive I receive a call we are moved to another building because of "maintenance" but the same accommodations. We got an upper level with old carpeting and a nasty couch. We ran into several other quests that it also happened to so be carful of that.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice unit and view but the furniture was dated and uncomfortable. The couch looked like it came from goodwill! Too many locals on beach with boats and dogs! This spoiled what was once a wonderful beach. Maybe security could patrol once an hour. Some of the boaters seemed confrontational so my wife and I avoided the areas where they set up. Unfortunately these were some of the nicer beach areas.
