The place is under construction—which I usually don’t mind…but this place had a dirt entrance, dysfunctional elevators, my room had already been renovated—with wallpaper coming unglued, bathroom fixtures that felt like they were coming off the wall. The AC was out so they replaced it with a portable AC on such a short cord it was a taut 4”H line right next to the bed. Location is good. Few blocks to Barrington Stage and short drive to Guido’s and Tanglewood. They should not be charging what they are charging in the conditions they are in. Ive stayed at Four Seasons undergoing renovations for far less and they know how to make the work invisible to the guests.

The staff here is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable. There is only one working elevator in this 12 story hotel for both staff and guests to use. Various parts of the hotel and the parking lot are also currently under construction making it difficult to find a spot and get into and out of the hotel if you are in a wheelchair, using a stroller or just even walking. They have valet service but it’s not the most convenient if you have a load of items that you need to get into and out of your car each time you arrive back at the hotel. The pool is also very deep, starting at 4 feet and sloping down almost immediately. Not a great place to stay for families. Again, great staff though!

Three elevators with only one of them working, the entire time I was there. There are stairs which I used once from my 5th floor room, but then discovered the stairwell does not open on the 2nd floor and the second floor is where the restaurant, bar, gym and everything else you might want are located. There's a sign in the lobby " Rise and Dine!" When I finally arrived at the breakfast room with, of course, my room key, I was asked if I had a coupon...meaning, had I paid for breakfast upfront? No, I didn't. Breakfast, she said, was a buffet which cost $11.99. Okay, let's put it on my bill. No, she refused to do that...so I had to go back to the single working elevator and take another ten-minute trip to get back to my room and grab my wallet. The buffet was a tired collection of eggs, sausage, french toast, etc. which had been put out at 6:30...not great.

OK, the hotel needs updating, but the staff was so friendly and helpful it didn't even matter. We parked our car, walked everywhere, 2 min to the Colonial theater! Insider tip, if you buy a breakfast tix from the front desk it's less $ than paying at the restaurant.

I was a bit distressed by the parking lot situation and with the garage and lot all dug up and torn apart it looked horrible. But the staff was super kind and helpful and the room was really nice and I liked everything else about it. I was a bit anxious when I pulled up. It would have been nice to know in advance. But our stay went great. (My dog and me). I would stay there again if I have another dog trial out in that area.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Our room had 2 queen beds and they easily accommodated 2 of us and our late teen children. It's only 20 minutes from Jiminy Peak skiing area. There are several breakfast and food places nearby.
