Perfect Weekend Getaway

My husband and I came down from central IA for a weekend getaway and our stay was perfect! We had no distractions and were able to focus on each other wholeheartedly. Hot tub!

The cabin was exactly as advertised. We were in the hot tub when a storm rolled in, which was glorious! The cabin was clean and comfortable. The bed wasn't exactly the Four Seasons, but we still slept soundly! I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a quiet getaway off the beaten path.

Weekend Get Away

I got the cabin because my son was racing at Wheatland and was suppose to be all weekend. Unfortunately he broke the first night so we had an entire weekend with no plans. We played lots of board games, soaked in the hot tub, had a campfire and just relaxed all weekend. After a very bad start it turned out to be a great stay.

Nice Quiet Getaway

For the most part the stay was great, only downside is there were a few bugs in the place when we arrived. They were easily gotten rid of. The place was quiet, very peaceful, and hikes/state park were near and a great way to spend the day! Very appreciative of the book that was put together of near by attractions.

The property was decent , but really could have been cleaner and the bed needs to be replaced you could feel the springs on the bed. There was also no tv and was not disclosed.

Third year and counting

What can I say? Three years running should tell you about our experiences. There was wood this year, but the propane tanks were missing (not many people bbq in the winter though, so we pan fried our steaks). Basically, double check with the owner if you need the grill, or a roaring fire, to verify availability of wood/propane. There were new pots/pans and fireplace doors. You can tell the owners are interested in more than just upkeep. They are investing in the property to make it enjoyable. The Alps store just north of 64/J on 64 in Pitsburg is a full service grocery and you can get anything you forgot there. Overall, another great stay and we look forward to it again.
