We loved our stay at the Courtland Hotel in Fort Scott. Such a beautiful old building and great history. Super friendly and accommodating to our needs. We would definitely return and recommend staying here in the historic hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay, I can't recommend it enough! Quiet, clean, historic place with lots of stories. The owner is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. We hope to stay again in the future!

This is a beautiful turn of the century hotel built in 1902. The owner has modernized it with A/C and bathroom facilities in each room while still maintaining most of the original ambiance. We checked in early and left for an event. Late in the evening innkeeper Frank met us at the door and escorted us to our room. Room was beautifully appointed with antiques and a very comfortable bed. In the morning Frank met us at the continental breakfast area and shared with us a lot of very interesting history of the hotel and general area. This hotel does not all of the modern amenities of a newer hotel but makes up for it in olden times charm.

Great Experience
The hosts were amazing and super accommodating for our very late night check in, and throughout our stay. The hotel has so much character, I would recommend staying here to anyone! Thanks for making us feel very welcome and sharing your knowledge of Ft Scott!

This is a quaint old hotel in the downtown area of historic Ft. Scott, KS only a block from the historic military fort. The hotel built in 1906 retains it historic décor and is run by a family that maintains it well. Only negative is all rooms are on second floor with no elevator. Near main highway route with street parking.

A Step Back in Time
Quaint and cozy refurbished hotel in downtown Fort Scott. Great parlor lounge area fir reading, games. Note: The rooms on second floor only accessible with stairs. Host helped to carry our luggage. Very nice venue.

We enjoyed the historic building. We spent some time enjoying the large living room and looking at the antique furniture throughout the building. Our room was cosy and comfortable, and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful.

The property was authentic and antique. The property owners were genuine, interesting to speak with, friendly and helpful. The spa was relaxing and priced below industry standard. Definitely not your typical hotel experience. Loved the character of the property.

This boutique hotel sends one to another era—1906 to be exact. The Courtland hotel is simply unforgettable. Reminds me of a western movie—but with internet.

The Hotel Staff was very interested in providing a positive experience. They walked us to our room and gave some history of the place. The location relative to the main heart of the old but also now new downtown district was excellent and we did not feel unsafe at any time
