Villa Petra is located in a beautiful hillside setting in the Village of Pissouri. The Villa is a home from home, it is spacious and has everything you'll need to enable you to enjoy a well earned break from the run of the mill. You will feel at home the moment you arrive and will want to explore the Villa so let me take you through what you will find. You enter through the well kept mature garden and in through the front door to the fully air conditioned, open plan living area. The kitchen area has everything you would expect and more. Modern appliances, oven, hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee machine along with ample workspace, utensils, cookware and crockery to enable the most capable chef to create delightful dishes. Your eyes will be drawn to the living area, the large dining table and comfy sofas, complimented by the modern decor, occasional tables, internet TV and Blu-Ray player, selection of DVDs and Bluetooth speaker. WiFi is provided free of charge, UK TV channels can be viewed through the Clear Stream box with further options connecting through the Apple TV box where you can access your personal streaming services like NetFlix. The Living area gives direct access to a toilet and the first of the three En-suite bedrooms. Before going too far into the Villa you will want to explore the outside facilities and where better to start than with the large pool with roman steps that enable the least confident swimmer to have somewhere to splash around. The Pool is accessible either through the inner stairs off the living area or via the stairs to the side of the Villa. The water sparkles where it is so clean, the six full size loungers, large (3M) parasols and selection of floats and pool toys provide for all whether you wish to soak up the sun, chill in the shade with a book or be a little more energetic in the pool. You will notice the alfresco dining area with modern Gas BBQ. This area is well lit to enable you to enjoy a relaxing evening in the garden when the sun has gone down but you don't want the day to end; you are welcome to cut a fresh lemon from the lemon tree or compliment your meal with some fresh olives from the olive tree. At some point you will have to retire to Bed so let us go back into the Villa and explore the bedroom arrangements. As mentioned above all three bedrooms are en-suite, all are fully air-conditioned and have ceiling fans to help circulate the cool air along with mood setting bed side lamps to help you relax you into peaceful sleep. All bedrooms have built in wardrobes providing ample storage space along with full length mirrors. The first bedroom is accessible from the living area and has a king size bed. The en-suite consists of shower, basin and toilet. Moving up stairs you will discover two further bedrooms. The first is a twin and with en-suite shower, basin and toilet. You will then move to the master bedroom which will impress. It is spacious enough on it's own but the private terrace opens out through the large patio window to give an area where time can stand still. By day it is a south facing sun trap that will allow you to relax in total isolation from the world outside, by night it turns into a planetarium where the night sky will amaze as the stars and occasional comet come into view; this really is a sight to see. So is that it, well no, there is more: From the living area you will gain access to the basement area where, along with access to the pool, you will find a full size pool table with both adult and child size cues, a further television with PlayStation 3 and Nintendo WII with a good selection of games. There is yet another bathroom with toilet and shower, this is accessible directly from the pool and also acts as an en-suite should the Sofa bed be required. Hand, bath and swimming/beach towels are provided for all along with quilts and bedspreads; you are welcome to request other items if required to ensure your holiday starts the second you arrive. A Cot with bedding and High Chair are available on request. The Pool is cleaned twice a week, the Villa will be presented in pristine condition; I have been to Villas where the first day is spent cleaning them to my standard, you can be assured you won't need to clean this Villa on arrival.
Well, you now know about the Villa, you will be wondering what else there is to do in and around Pissouri. There are many attractions from Historical sites and monuments to wild water parks and water activities so let me give you an overview of some of the hi-lights. First I will start with places to eat. Pissouri village has a fair number of restaurants all within reasonable walking distance. There are numerous traditional offerings from the local tavernas along with the more cosmopolitan that one comes to expect. Slightly further afield Pissouri Bay has it's own choices, more traditional with sea front fish restaurants, Cyprus cuisine and, should you wish, the 5 star hotel. Full details of local restaurants will be provide to ensure you have the opportunity to explore from an informed position. Moving on to entertainment. The options are never ending. Cyprus has many historical monuments, many of which you will know from Greek mythology; Aphrodite features with her birth place less than ten minutes from the Villa. Then there is the ancient Amphitheatre which is a must if only to witness the amazing mosaic skills of the ancient Greeks. A trip in to Paphos and a visit to the Fort or an excursion in a Glass bottom Boat where you really can see the wonderful Sea Life in the clear warm sea below. A guide is provided in the Villa giving lots of ideas of places to eat and visit during your stay, an electronic copy will be provided before you travel. Note: *Netflix and alike may require a subscription.
Pissouri retains traditional Cypriot ethos whilst catering for the most discerning visitor. Located midway between the historic harbour town of Paphos and the bustling city of Limassol whilst the old coastal road will take you to the Roman Amphitheatre and mosaics at Kourion (where Shakespeare plays and concerts are performed in the Summer months) and the scenic Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Birth Place). For the keen golfers a 15-minute drive gets you to the two championship golf courses of Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills. The charming vine growing villages of the Troodos Mountains are but a 40-minute drive away. There you will find walks among the scented pine forests with expansive views and stunning landscapes, not to mention the serenity and beauty of the Monasteries and churches; experiences not to be missed. The Pissouri / Pissouri Bay area, traditionally part of the vine growing area of Limassol District, escapes the mass tourism of the more widely known Cyprus resorts and is perfect for “getting away from it all”. It is a quiet and friendly with a wonderful blue flag beach at Pissouri Bay. It offers a wide range of water sports and has plenty choice of traditional taverns, restaurants and styles of cuisine - all waiting for you to discover. Pissouri Bay is a favourite place for Cypriots to visit at weekends and sample the local delights of fish meze.
Pissouri Village boasts an attractive square with quaint narrow streets leading to it. During the summer season you will find “Cyprus nights” with traditional Cypriot food and entertainment including music and dancing are held in Pissouri Village, details are available in the Village square but be sure to book. Other amenities include church, mini markets, internet café, pizzeria, sports pub, car hire, bank with ATM, water sports and dive centre, health and beauty, travel agency etc as well as many restaurants and taverns where you can relax and watch the world go by.
The modern Amphitheatre has regular entertainment including military bands, folk dancing and plays throughout the season.
