We loved our stay here! The house had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the game room and the fireplace.
The hosts were great and quickly contacted us with information, as well as additional help for activities during our stay.
The house was centrally located between Grayson Highlands state park and activities in West Jefferson and Blowing Rock, North Carolina.
It was a very nice cabin. Great location if you want peace and quiet, a bit far from any town or shopping. If you are looking to do some tourist type walking around and shopping the closest town is Sparta and it is very small. Outside steps are very slippery in the rain.
Are stay was fantastic, the cabin its self very beautiful, everything is there for you but your food n you want to get it on your way to cabin because the closes grocery store is food lion . One thing needs to be done is bed on first floor needs replaced and the cleaners needs to take time to clean under couch etc but dont take me wrong I give it a very high score bc it just right down fantastic and owners seems to be great .yes I will go again bc we loved it ty 10star
My wife and I had a great visit at the Lazy Deer Cabin with our son, his wife, and our two grandchildren (ages 1 and 3). The cabin is a great property in a beautiful setting and everyone had a super time. The property is relatively close to Grayson Highlands State Park which we made several visits to and it is also close to several access points on the New River, providing lots of opportunities to get on that beautiful waterway. We typically cook a lot when staying at a cabin on vacation, and this place had a really well stocked kitchen that kept our cooks happy. Overall, this was a very comfortable place just to hang out at and the game room provided additional entertainment for all. The surrounding neighborhood of the cabin is phenomenal and the kids enjoyed the frequent visits by the area deer and walks along the area streams. We will readily come back to the Lazy Deer Cabin if we return to this beautiful Blue Ridge area in the future.
Great property and location for what we wanted to do. We rode horses for four hours into the Grayson Highlands State Park with the Appalachian Horseback Riding Adventures guide (Doug Cregger, 276-783-4136). We were up close with the wild ponies. We kayaked/canoed with Zaloo’s Canoes (four hours, ten miles) on the New River. We hiked Grayson Highlands. And, on our way home, we rode bikes (26-28 miles) on the New River Bike Trail. Everything was in close proximity.
The house was extremely clean and sanitary. The game room was a blast.
Great fun! Great times! Great memories!
