We will stay here again
Great location and neighborhood. Easy to find. Cute, vintage, very clean property. The house was well stocked with essential items. We loved sitting on the large front porch at all times of day taking in the neighborhood around us. The biggest highlight was the many visiting elk early mornings and evenings. That was really special observing these incredibly beautiful animals. The property owners were quick in responding to communication.

I rented this for my mother. It was her first time doing this. She absolutely loved the place! She felt safe in the neighborhood. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating for our situation. She will be back again!

Shauna's property was fabulous. After an initial shock about the heat, we enjoyed a lovely three days in a very safe and clean home. A retro 70’s gem in Strawberry
This is a charming retro 70s house that sits in a beautiful little neighborhood. We were able to see elk feeding in the morning in the front yard and enjoy the cool breezes on the rocking swing on the porch. Owners were courteous and always answer their phone. Everyone in strawberry is so nice!

Decent for the money.
This 70s house in amazing true to the period colors and materials down to the details of plastic cups and saucers , in that sense the place is cozy and fun. There was a bad order coming from oven and lower kitchen cabinet so when I went to use the stove I choked and it was scary when a lot of smoke poured out. It was an awful moment. The lawn and property itself are not maintained and that took so much away from the vacation ambiance. That all said, for the money this place is super convenient, in a great neigbohood and an easy place to be with kids.

Thank you for your feedback. I believe some grease had dripped in the stove/oven. This issue has been resolved. Also, the rains come off and on during this time of year and we mow and take care of weeds often, but I apologize if if was not dealt with prior to your stay.

Great Family Trip
We loved staying at this property! It is a wonderful place and in a great location. As we were unloading our vehicle, we saw three elk walking around in the neighborhood. Our children loved seeing the beautiful animals. Shauna was amazing to work with, very professional and responded to inquiries quickly. The property was very clean and had fast WiFi. Our children had plenty of room inside and outside to play. We all loved swinging on the swing out on the beautiful front porch, it was one of our favorite things to do. Thank you for a great family trip!

Perfect.
The property was very nice and exactly as described. Just what we were looking for and needed. Enjoyed our stay. Shauna keeps the home clean and in great shape. Hated to leave. Enjoyed one last nap on the sofa with the front door wide open before heading back to valley. Hope to be back soon.

Excellent Stay! Nice sized house, very comfortable. Covered porches on both sides, with grill in back. Nice size backyard, we brought our bocce set and at night watched the stars. Huge assortment of board games and card games, which was great as everyone had to unplug from the net. The kids had a great time! Thank you, Shauna!

A cozy cabin amongst the Pines
A great place to stay. Cabin was very clean, well-stocked and loved the decor. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and beautiful. Beautiful porch both front and back. Shawna quickly replied to any questions. Will definitely stay here again.

What a sweet home, just as the pictures showed. We stayed in the winter and did not realize that there was only a fireplace and space heaters to heat the entire house. After about an hour the fireplace did heat up the main rooms. It wasn't a problem as we had plenty of blankets at night. The house is in a great, quiet neighborhood and really cute. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful stay.

Everything was wonderful, but us Phoenix "kids" were cold...
When we found the cabin, we were super excited because it was in a great location and for an awesome price. We got to the cabin later at night, after dark, and the set-up of everything (water & fire/heat) was a little difficult because it was dark and it was SOOO cold (probably not too bad, but being from Phoenix, we were definitely chilly!) The cabin was just as pictured and had plenty of room for everyone (2 families=4 adults, 3 kids). We also had everything we needed for cooking and there is a Walmart in Payson, for groceries, only about 15 minutes away. The Tonto Natural Bridge is about 10 minutes away and you MUST go see it, it's absolutely breathtaking! We also visited the Fossil Creek Creamery, which is even closer than the bridge, and that is an experience all in itself! You'll definitely walk away with fun stories! We saw elk early in the morning right in the backyard and the kids had a fantastic time playing outside. The front has a relaxing swing and the back has a nice outdoor patio set to sit in the warm sun. The only downsides we found were absolutely no coverage for AT&T users, but Verizon had perfectly good coverage. Also, we were cold for the first day-ish cause the only heating element is the fireplace in the main room. It took about 45 minutes to get the element going and then overnight to get the home comfortable. An easy fix would be to just bring warm jammies. We're so grateful for the "escape to the little patch of Strawberry" and are looking forward to our next trip! Thank you again!

The property was a 100% plus 1% great! Had my kids going crazy in the beautiful yard they have and very quiet and relaxing for us adults (wife and I). I would definitely get back to the owners to rent the place out again. Owners are amazingly nice and very helpful when we needed help. Place is just great all around! Comfortable beds, great location!! Thanks again and much mahalo!!

The home was well equipped with any/every thing you would need for a comfortable stay. A great front porch with a swing, a large covered patio with a yard. The grandkids played badminton, we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. We were able to eat our evening meal out on the patio each evening. No bugs!!! The weather was perfect, especially evenings and early morning. Our last morning temp was 44. It was difficult to leave this wonderful haven and head back to high temps in the valley. Like having a second home in the mountains
From the first email reply, our whole experience was great. Shauna is a great hostess. The cabin is definitely comfortable and met our needs. We booked last minute, and were thrilled that all we needed to bring was food. There is a very well stocked kitchen with full sets of pans and mixing bowls and utensils. We have gluten/celiac issues in our family, so being able to prepare meals at the cabin was a must. No problem here. I loved having a carport to park the car, so we could get in and out of the cabin on dry carport. The two porches were wonderful. Kids on one and adults on the other for game night. Shauna put alot of love into this cabin, and you will definitely feel welcome and comfortable during your stay. Next trip we will stay longer. We stopped in at Strawberry Market. Great owners and they carry a full range of items, and a fun gift shop. We got funny nightshirts for the kids.

If you are looking for a little mountain get away in a quiet little town, this house is for you. This property is like walking into a time capsule. All the furnishings are from the late 70's or so. But they are in great shape! We found the home to be very comfortable and clean. Six of us stayed and there was plenty of room to have another couple over for dinner one night. The kitchen and bathrooms are completely stocked with most any thing you would need. And the parking is a huge plus as we had two trailers with us to haul our ATV's.

My family and I we had an amazing time. Far enough away from city where we could enjoy the peace and quiet of the bird and squirrel. But in 15 min we could be in the city. Love this place!
