The house was lovely, traditional French. we were a family party of 20, 9 children ranging from 5-16 and 11 adults. The house had plenty of space for us all, the communal areas e.g. kitchen, dining room, living room, and outside space were fantastic. Barbara, the owner was there to welcome us and give us any advice required. the pool area was lovely and a big hit with the children, as was the games room. Free Wi-Fi was also very popular with both children and adults alike. Nearby Aubeterre was lovely. It has a riverside beach for swimming, kayaking, with a reasonably priced café. we also visited Nabinaud (about 8 mins away) for the high ropes course, maze and another lovely beach. The house is well-equipped, and the pool is great — perfect for a group holiday. We left with plenty of happy memories. The only downside has been what happened afterwards. Two weeks on, we’re still dealing with a waste disposal fine we believe is unfair, with very unclear communication from the host. During the stay, the only issue raised with us was fixed straight away, and nothing more was mentioned. It’s a shame, because instead of just remembering the holiday, we’ve ended up discussing this when we get together. The house is perfectly set up for family groups as each lot can take a "wing". A really well equipped kitchen enabled us to have wonderful meals at home... meat cooked by the boys and wonderful salads cooked by Barbara's friend. Barbara was super helpful and very easy to contact the whole time. The village was gorgeous but tiny..... about a 10 minute drive for any grocery shopping. Nous avons passé un merveilleux week-end de pâques dans ce gîte. Une maison historique, atypique et adaptée pour un grand groupe. Même si la piscine n'était pas chauffée en cette saison, nous avons pu en profiter (pour les plus courageux), et bronzer au soleil pour les autres. Je recommande cette adresse ! :) Les alentours du village de Pillac détiennent un patrimoine riche, des domaines et vignes ... Nous avons pu nous rendre au marché de Aubeterre-sur-Dronne et visiter un domaine pour y découvrir des orchidées sauvages et une production de Cognac et alcool VIVANT (Le Domaine Decroix) . ##### Noemie G.
