"The room and the property was a bit worn but very clean. There were no cups to use for water in the room assigned to me. There was a coffee pot but no carrafe for the coffee or a cup to drink the coffee. The coffee in the lobby was fresh."

"The room was clean and newly refurbished. The faucet on the bathroom sink leaked and was difficult to turn on and shut off. Breakfast was okay. Staff was very friendly. I was disappointed to see that the door leading to the outside at the end of the hall and the door leading into the first floor room area, did NOT LOCK, THEY WERE OPEN AND DID NOT CLOSE WHATSOEVER. FOR THAT REASON I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. SAFTEY IS KEY FOR ME!"

"Staff was friendly. Bed was comfortable. Food at Duck Blind was very good and their staff were very engaging and efficient. The grounds and buildings need a lot of work. Was sad to see the outside pool was not operational. The grounds and buildings need some TLC!!"

"We have been traveling a little bit over the past year. And this was by far the most comfortable hotel we have ever stayed at. EVERYTHING worked as it should. Staff was amazingly nice. Would definitely go back if in the area."

"We had a fantastic weekend at the house - it was stunning throughout, with every room beautifully done up in interesting art and little touches that gave it real character. There was no shortage of things to do: we had a great time downstairs with all the games, relaxed in the hot tub, went swimming off the dock, and admired the stars at night. The space worked perfectly for our group: plenty of room to gather together, but also quiet spots for downtime. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and we appreciated the extra items (napkins, plastic forks) on hand as backup. The sound system was a great touch throughout, with TVs in so many rooms, and the extra AC unit in the carriage house suite made a big difference keeping everyone comfortable.Jim and Jill were wonderful hosts — kind, responsive, and quick to help.A few small notes: the AC for the living room in the main house wasn't working on arrival, but Jim came by and had it fixed by the 2nd day. The towel rack in the main floor bathroom was sitting on the toilet rather than mounted but Jim got it up. The tech walkthrough ran a bit long — a written guide to review ahead of time would help. And there's no ladder to get back onto the dock, so getting out means hoisting yourself up or swimming to the stone beach - worth it, but pack water shoes, as it can be slippery.Overall, a beautiful home with a lot to offer - we'd happily stay again. It was an absolutely magical space and we already miss it!"
