The setting feels quiet and tucked away and the property itself provides a strong sense of privacy once you are on site. The Space: This historic park ranger cottage sits on two private acres at the edge of Table Rock State Park. You have the entire home and outdoor space to yourself. The cottage is positioned and landscaped in a way that feels calm and private once you settle in. The private trail begins just out the front door and leads directly into the park’s trail system. Guests regularly hike to waterfalls, the lake and overlooks without ever getting in the car. Many mention that once they arrive, they rarely feel the need to leave. After a day outdoors, the pace naturally slows. Relax in the hot tub on the lower deck framed by the trees. The fire pit is intimate and starlit. The garden and grill area are meant for long evenings rather than quick meals. Inside, the house blends rustic character with modern comfort. It is intentionally simple, clean and functional. It is a comfortable and well equipped base for spending time outside and relaxing afterward. Direct trail access into Table Rock State Park from the property One minute to Lake Oolenoy Approximately 20 minutes to Travelers Rest and Lake Jocassee About 30 minutes to Lake Keowee Roughly 35 minutes to Clemson, Greenville, Brevard and Hendersonville Good to Know This is a split level cottage with stairs to bedrooms on upper and lower levels and is not suitable for unsupervised small children. Although pets are not allowed, ADA compliant service animals must be accepted. Exterior cameras are located outside only for guest safety and property security. There are no interior or interior facing cameras. On occasion, landscaping maintenance may occur during longer stays. Additional House Rules and Property Guidelines: • Your profile photo must clearly show your face. A valid, government-issued photo ID is required at the time of booking. Failure to provide this will result in cancellation. • Must be at least 25 years old to book. No third-party bookings. • No smoking or vaping inside or near the cottage. Smoking is only allowed at the fire pit. Violation results in a $500 fine plus remediation costs. • No firearms, weapons, fireworks, or candles allowed anywhere on the property. • Unauthorized guests or pets will result in immediate removal and non-refundable cancellation. • ADA-compliant service animals must remain with the guest at all times and may not be left unattended. Emotional support animals are not allowed. • Lost park pass incurs a $125 replacement fee. Lost house key incurs a $75 replacement fee. • Tampering with exterior security cameras will result in immediate removal without refund. • Additional charges may apply if the premises are left in abnormal condition. • The property is for personal, residential use only. Commercial use of any kind is not permitted, including photo or video shoots, filming, workshops, retreats, or content creation intended for business or monetization. Unauthorized commercial use may result in immediate termination of the stay without refund. • Certain amenities are provided as a courtesy and are considered non-essential, including the hot tub, EV charger, and Wi-Fi/internet. If an essential amenity is unavailable for more than 24 hours, compensation is limited to a maximum of $25 per day, at the host’s discretion. No refunds are provided for interruptions caused by weather, power outages, third-party utilities, or guest misuse. The host must be given reasonable time to attempt repairs. • For stays longer than seven nights, bi-weekly cleanings are required at a cost of $75 per cleaning. Refusal to allow required cleanings may result in cancellation without refund. • Mail and packages may not be sent to the property. The home is not a legal mailing address, and the host is not responsible for items sent in violation of this rule. We highly recommend travel insurance to protect your plans. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything necessary for preparing dinners. The pre-chopped wood for the fire pit was a wonderful convenience. We were able to access the Pinnacle Lake Trail directly from the house, and it was a beautiful walk to the lake. The complimentary state park pass proved to be quite useful, and we also enjoyed a visit to the very beautiful Jones Gap State Park. We certainly plan to rent this property again. ##### Lona Renee C. The living room furniture was the only complaint we had, sits very low & we didn’t find it comfortable at all, but if you don’t plan to be indoors much this shouldn’t be an issue. As soon as we pulled into the drive, we could feel our stress melting away. Perfect location for peace, quiet and solitude but also well located for excursions. We hiked from the trail on the property all the way to the top of Table Rock, about a 10 mile round trip. The hike was amazing. The property has high speed Internet service available and well thought out furnishings and amenities. The location is ideal for hiking Table Rock State Park, with direct access to the main trail—no need to drive or pay entrance fees. The cottage is comfortable, well-equipped, and offers thoughtful amenities like various coffee makers, phone chargers, maps, and even an EV charger. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the back deck with a charcuterie board, admiring the view of Pinnacle Mountain, and gathering around the fire pit in the evenings (firewood is provided, but bringing a fire starter is helpful). The beds upstairs are very comfortable; I can't comment on the twin beds downstairs. After a day of hiking, grilling steaks and soaking in the hot tub were perfect ways to unwind. The setting is peaceful and relaxing, with easy access to multiple hiking trails. We visited in the fall, so watch for leaves covering the paths. Our only wish was for a longer stay—we highly recommend this cottage for a restful getaway near Table Rock State Park. ##### Richard V. It was peaceful and had views of Table Rock right from the porch. We loved that you could hike right into the park from the house. There were so many beautiful waterfalls, lakes and hiking trails of various difficulties. When we needed a break from hiking we had so many activities to enjoy at the house from the ring toss game, big jenga and corn hole to various board games. We loved that we didn't need to worry about brining a lot of things like tissues, salt and pepper, etc. because the owner provides all of that stuff for you. This VRBO is well maintained and loved. The Cottage is so private you could hear a pin drop! Excellent layout and everything we needed. The interior appears very new. The king size bed is very comfortable. The central air conditioning and tower fans kept the place extremely comfortable in 90 degree weather. The back porch has a grand up close view of Table Rock Mountain. The marked private trail led us to a breathtaking view of Table Rock Mountain and waterfall. We loved the new outdoor park style grill and fire pit on the property. The outdoor lighting was great!
