Le Botum overall i a very nice and excellent value hotel. It is in an excellent location for things i like to do. Love the skybar, pool and restaurant and food options. The thing that makes this hotel a standout for me is the staff. Our room overlooked the royal palace and the river Mekong beyond. The bed was comfortable, the bath room had a great shower. The hotel has a rooftop pool that gives you panoramic views across the city. The pool is clean and there are a few sunbeds for you. We had the breakfast option with our reservation. There was a selection of local and western style offerings. There was an egg and noodle bar. The staff are friendly and helpful, our room was clean and the sky bar is great. The location is in a good area. TV has many channels, but as the channel numbers increased, the reception was snowy and awful, especially on CNN. Major problem was the shower. Hot water lasted only a minute or so. They said they fixed it, but they didn't and later admitted the shower had only 15 liters of hot water. Ridiculous. Less than a gallon. So, I was forced to shower in cool, but not icy water. Also, English spotty. Very hard to communicate. Staff must learn to serve tourists from all over, Europe, South America, Asia and Africa, not just English countries, most of whom use English as the international travel language. Breakfast good and offers choices cooked to order. Staff is friendly, but translate apps are not good with Khmer language. Worst was that hotel is in a very quiet area. Nothing around, requiring taxi or Tuk Tuk to seek night life or dinner. Long walk to Palace and Riverside. When entered a room and sat on bed, realized that the bed had a wet spot, which seemed like pee that was washed and covered. As mattress has not dried yet, it showed up on the surface. Staff could not understand what it was - thinking we spilled something. We said we will use other beds, but wanted to flag it. Next day the bed was made, hence they just put the sheet back on on the supposedly peed mattress. Attached is a pic of our feet 5 mins into being in the room.
