Its been over 20 years since the LKs last visited so were looking forward to re-visiting. There are no charges to walk amongst the stones which make up the largest megalithic stone circle in the world, but there are separate charges for the museum and the Avebury Manor. The main car park is £4 for the day but not very big considering the volume of visitors Avebury sees, so if you visit we would suggest outside peak months. The purpose of the the stone circle is unknown but its believed to be a ritual complex, the site is a sacred site to the contemporary Pagans and if you are lucky on your visit you may see Druidic rites taking place. Tessa had gone the extra mile by providing a lovely welcome tray of tea, coffee, orange juice and breakfast items with a fruit bowl. The bed was amazing…. So comfortable, we will certainly miss it being back home! There was board games supplied and tele had Amazon, Netflix and Spotify for music. The convection microwave was simple to use and we cooked a couple of meals. The Loft is situated along a quiet well maintained rural road, checkin was very straight forward with great detailed communication from the host. The property is well equipped, comfortable and welcoming. Our host left us a few breakfast items and tea etc that was much appreciated. It was our first time away with our 5 month old baby. We all enjoyed ourselves, including our dog. Property was warm and cosy with plenty of amenities. Clear info on how to use the TV and appliances. Info on local area, including walks. Peaceful property set in a pretty rural area. Plenty of local walks, including the canal near by. Other attractions a short drive away. Highly recommended.
