Awesome and Affordable River Cottage
Precious cottage with an Angel's View
Overlooking the first Salmon Pool of the Cheticamp River, bordering the Highland National Park, and minutes away from the Acadian French village of Cheticamp, this jewel will please your soul.
Appearing to be remote, the active village is just 2 minutes away with drug store, grocery, beauty shops, gift shops, bakeries, museums, whale tours etc. But at the cabin you are surrounded by privacy of trees, mountains, and the Cheticamp River. Two blocks away is the Gulf of Saint Lawrence where the Cheticamp River spills into the salty beach.
The cabin is small but the view is large. Offering a full view of the Cheticamp River and Highlands National Park is your ever changing view. We watch moose, bear, deer, coyotes, chipmunks, squirrels, and eagles as they cross the river and forage the flora. Enjoy evening camp fires in the fire pit. Canoe the river at high tides or just sit and relax on the lawn with a view worth Angel's wings.
Inside the cabin is comfy sofa and chairs, Flat screen Smart TV, full kitchen and standard bathroom.
Fishing is fly reel only from the pool up. It is a scheduled river so 'catch and release'. You can trout fish also.
This is our private cabin so we maintain it with the comforts we expect for daily living. We have outside amenities such as Bar- B- Que, , Fire Pit, Picnic tables, and outside chairs.
I am dog friendly. If you have a dog you want me to consider, please tell me the age, size and breed when inquiring to this listing.
During Covid Restrictions and Protocols, we are allowing 48 hours minimum between guest for our housekeepers and your security.

Comfy cozy cottage with an amazing view of the Highlands and Cheticamp River, close to the National park and close to amenities and restaurant. Most importantly, a 2 minute drive from the Aucoin bakery, the very best and must popular spot in Cape Breton!
Perfect for a little get away.

This property has the best view I've ever seen. I stay at this property at least once a year, for the view and for the serenity. The owner is fantastic.
Our second stay at Angel's View did not disappoint. The vews and location are simply stunning and the house is everything you need. We really appreciated the personal left for us when we arrived. We will definitely be returning again.
Stayed 4 nights - lost one due to post-tropical storm Lee. A great stay, though the weather didn’t cooperate. Had wind in rain 3 of the 4 days, oh well. Well equipped with comfortable furniture. Not luxury, but nice. Really enjoyed the stay.
The view out our front window looked like a picture. The location was absolutely perfect as a jump off point for entering the national park each day. It’s close to stores and restaurants. The house is fully furnished with everything you’ll need to be comfortable and beyond. Our host was very accommodating and when we had questions she was quick to respond.
The house was warm and comfortable. It had everything we needed down to seasoned cast iron skillets and good knives. The view from the house was amazing! The view got even better when sitting in the yard which sits on a bluff overlooking the Chetticamp River with mountains in the distance and fields of willow below us. Eagles were commonly sighted and there was a lot of beaver activity in the river below. Very peaceful and serene. We would definitely visit this house again when in the area! Just lovely!
Great private property with stunning view. Host called and checked in to make certain we were satisfied, which I appreciated. I will book again if I return to the area
Quite simply, one of the most amazing views I have ever seen anywhere was out the living room window of this lovely cottage. When you add in eagles, moose (a couple of feet from the window!) , beavers and numerous other interesting little animals and birds, it's was a very memorable stay.
Stayed here for four days and it was wonderful! Even though the national park was closed and only open to thru traffic due to hurricane Fiona´s legacies, this little paradise wasn´t affected at all and we spent a heavenly time overlooking Chéticamp River. Communication with Jacqueline was just great! This is a real gem!
Staying at Angels View is highly recommended. We really enjoyed our stay at Jacquis place for the second time. The house does include everything that’s needed for the stay. We really loved sitting in the garden and enjoying the nature around.
We even met Jacqui and enjoyed getting to know her and Juno for the first time and chatting around. The house has a good location for hiking around at Cape Breton Nationalparc and is very close so Chéticamp itself.

This place is simply magical if you're looking for serenity and a break from the cities. It's situated back from a dirt road, overlooks a river, and is adjacent to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Be aware that water is supplied from a tank, so you'll need to conserve. We didn't find that to be a problem for us. We could have stayed much longer!

Perfect cabin and location
My husband and I along with our dog had a wonderful stay. The cabin has everything needed to be comfortable, prepare meals, and just relax. The view is incredible and we were able to watch a moose cross the river, several deer, and a fox. The eagles soared many times a day and sat in the tree right in the lawn overlooking the river. We had fun making a camp fire several nights. There is plenty of cut wood. The location is perfect for day trips around the Cabot Trail and anywhere in Cape Breton. There are several good restaurants in town and fiddle music.
Stayed 4 night in Sep/Oct 2025. Lovely setting on a river. Unfortunately there was a fire ban so could not use the fire pit. The cottage is small but great for 2 people and a medium sized dog. Good size yard for the dog to wander (not fenced) and several walking trails right there. Note that you can't drink the tap drink but the host provided bottled water. Because water is trucked in, showers and laundry are limited. It did not affect our stay. Note that internet in the area, as well as a good portion of Cape Breton, is down to one bar. If you plan on working remotely during your stay on the island, confirm the level of coverage where you will be staying. The excellent Aucoin Bakery is a couple of minutes away from the cottage. We were there every day. Several very good restaurants in Cheticamp.

A perfect October destination!
My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in mid-October. Though the weather did not cooperate and we had a fair bit of rain and got to experience the famous Les Suetes winds, we had a great time, The cottage is very comfortable, clean, and well equipped, and the view of the national park and the mountains is awesome, especially when the the leaves are turning. Fairly secluded, you barely know there are are other houses around as the cottage is on a bluff overlooking the Cheticamp River and the park. Yet we were so close to the restaurants and entertainment of Cheticamp 10 mins away and just a 5 minute drive to the main entrance to the park. The park is fantastic with great views and hiking trails. The wildlife is a top attraction although due to weather the animals seemed to keep a low profile on this trip. Would definitely stay here again!
This rental and the location were so perfect for us that we are already discussing a second Cape Breton trip in the next couple years if we can get the same place. The cottage had everything we needed plus a magical view over the river into the park mountains. I literally watched an eagle from above. We travel with two dogs and found a variety of walking paths for them in the woods and along and down to the river, or could walk to the beach just down the road and then along the beach or the pond by the beach. There is easy access to the most scenic drives and trails in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the visitors center to buy a pass is nearby, as well as an amazing bakery to get your snacks for your outing. The owner answered any questions we had clearly and promptly. Can't wait to go back!

Basic cottage on a beautiful property
The cottage has two rooms, a living room, a bathroom and a small kitchen and is located in a beautiful property overlooking the River. In our experience, the view on the River is really the highlight of this property - it is just majestic. There also are a lot of birds in the surrounding forest and it is beautiful to hear them sing throughout the day. There is an outdoor picnic table perfect for lunches but not so much for supper as it was buggy at the end of the day. Some dishes were not clean and we could live with it as we understand housekeeping might not have the time to check all the dishes - however, the fridge was not clean and this was a problem for us. We liked the air conditioning. All in all, we recommend this accommodation - beautiful and peaceful setting with a rustic yet comprehensively furnished cottage. Thank you.
This little cottage is absolutely charming both inside and outside and I felt relaxed and at home right away. The setting of course is idyllic with the ever-changing view of the river and mountains. I could have sat for hours and just taken in the sights and sounds of nature. Inside the cottage is immaculate, well arranged and very comfortable. The surroundings are amazing... I paddled on the river, hiked in the park, drove through the mountains and marveled at the spectacular fall colors. And all the while just mesmerized by the view... it's hard to look away from such a beautiful scene. I just can't say enough about how much I enjoyed just being there. Thank you Jacqui for sharing your magical place.

Fantastic view of river and mountains from awesome picture window.saw multiple bald eagles including a jeuvenile and both adults in a tree on the property.didnt see any other wildlife but I didnt care .House was great but we forgot our two water bottles in the fridge.Hope someone can mail them to us
Absolutely beautiful property, close to Cheticamp and entrance to the National park. Cannot beat the view. Clean property with everything you need. Beds are comfortable, cottage is clean.
This is our second stay at Angel View. The view truly is stunning and the close proximity to the Cabot Trail, the beach and walking trails is exactly what we were looking for. The cottage kitchen is well equipped; all was clean and comfortable-perfect for a couple with a pup (it would be tight for more than that-and not safe for little children with the cliff at the front of the cottage). We do feel that the cottage could use some updating but for us it was fine. We appreciated the air conditioner in the kitchen since it was 30 degrees. Richard the caretaker showed up to bring us more water and firewood which was great. All in all, we had a wonderful time.
