8/10 Good

"Generally good standard for a large modern hotel. Impersonal but staff did their best to counteract this. Minor tell-tale details - my bathroom wash-basin plug didn't work, the cutlery was heavy and didn't match the crockery. Breakfast price excessive and gave a 'take it or leave it' impression, although the person in charge kindly negotiated a £5 continental breakfast that I wanted."

"Beautiful building and grounds. The staff were fantastic and very welcoming. The hotel is very dog friendly. We had a room with a door to a private patio and access to the gardens. Our wee dog absolutely loved it. The gym is ok for a hotel, with a decent amount of weights and a few cardio machines. The highlight had to be the incredible food we had for dinner. They deserve their three rosettes. It really was a wonderful meal. The bar and outside seating area was lovely on a warm evening too. We would love to stay again."

"Front desk staff and restaurant were rather unfriendly and borderline rude. Room wasn’t very clean Expected more amenities in the room eg fridge Spa area was good but floors around pool very slippery and changing rooms floors soaking wet. More regular checking and cleaning. Pub and kitchen staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful Breakfast staff need better training with regards to hospitality etiquette and not handling cutlery and crockery where guests would be placing their mouths I was still eating breakfast and drinking my coffee and staff were trying to clear my plates and removed saucer whilst I was drinking my coffee "
