Live Like a Local
One of the best things about staying at The Kensington New Yorker is having some great neighbourhood favourites close to home. Start the morning with coffee and breakfast at The Little Banksia on Banksia Terrace, a much-loved Kensington café serving breakfast, lunch and locally roasted coffee. For more local coffee options, head to Hoopla or Kenzie’s Kitchen on Moresby Street — both are popular neighbourhood spots for an easy morning coffee, breakfast or something sweet. Hoopla has been serving the Kensington community since 2010, while Kenzie’s is particularly known for its café and bakery offering.
For groceries and everyday essentials, IGA Local Grocer Kensington is open seven days, with fresh food, ready meals and even an in-store barista. There’s also George Street Cafe right next door if you want to grab a coffee while picking up supplies.
For a larger grocery shop, Woolworths Victoria Park and Coles Victoria Park are only a short drive away. Head a little further into Victoria Park and you’ll find the bustling Albany Highway precinct, packed with restaurants, cafés, bars and takeaway options.
For a slower Perth morning, grab a coffee locally before heading down to the South Perth Foreshore for a walk along the Swan River, or continue to Mends Street for breakfast, Perth Zoo and the ferry across to Elizabeth Quay.
Local tip: You don’t need to head into Perth CBD every time you want to eat out. Between Kensington, South Perth and Victoria Park, you’ll find some of Perth’s best suburban cafés and an enormous variety of restaurants just minutes from the house.
You will have access to the entire house but not the garage. Parking is available in the sealed drive way at the front of the house.
