This cosy classic cottage is set in the most idyllic location, right on the banks of the river. With its own slipway, enjoy swimming or kayaking followed by cricket on the lawn and an evening by the firepit. The cottage has 1 Queen and a set of bunks plus single trundle and a fold-out bed, sleeping 7. The open plan living/kitchen/dining and veranda are delightful. This wonderful property is conducive to a relaxed holiday making plenty of special family memories.

- Bed 1: Queen, Bed 2: bunks (double and single), trundle, fold-out bed, bathroom w/ shower
- free Wifi, reverse cycle air conditioning, Apple TV, books and games
- veranda w/ seating, dining, outdoor heater, outdoor shower, cubby house, firepit

This is what holidays should be made of: lazy days out on the river, playing with the kids on the lawn, relaxing on the veranda and an evening BBQ under the stars. The River Cottage offers it all and more.

This pretty home is rustic in style yet beautifully modernised and decorated. With a soaring timbered ceiling in the main living area, wooden floorboards and a gorgeous white timber kitchen, it exudes character. The kitchen is well-equipped, including a microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine, and can seat 3 on stools at the island bench. The country style dining table seats 6, and the large comfy leather sofa invites the family to watch a movie at night on the smart TV with Apple TV provided (pay for your own movies). There is also a DVD player. If the weather gets cool, enjoy the warmth of the wood fire. Reverse air-conditioning ensures comfort in the summer and there are also ceiling fans.

Step out from the kitchen onto the spacious, cool veranda with its two comfy armchairs and another dining suite for 10. The level lawn meets the river frontage with its own slipway into the water. With only one neighbour, it’s private and tranquil. Listen to the trill of local birdlife and watch for twilight wildlife. Kayaks are provided for your use, and there is a cute cubby house for the children to play in, or try your hand at fishing or catching crabs. Enjoy the firepit in the cooler evenings.

The master bedroom has a Queen Bed and access to the veranda. The second bedroom is spacious, with a bunk (single above, double below), a trundle and a pull-out bed is also available. Plenty of storage is on offer in the built-in robe. The two bedrooms share a beautiful bathroom with a stained glass window and gorgeous original features. It has a shower, toilet and vanity. There is also a washing machine provided,

While the indoors is absolutely delightful and well-equipped for maximum comfort, you’ll be spending most of your time outside by the river, crabbing, fishing or kayaking, or cooking on the BBQ on the veranda. It’s truly idyllic!

Pets considered by owner for a $100 pet fee.
The setting is superb. Dolphins and pelicans are your local visitors and at night time a friendly possum or two. North Yunderup is a sleepy nest and you’ll wonder at the peace and tranquillity. There are some local pubs and restaurants on the opposite side of the river and Pinjarra is a 10 minute drive where you’ll find a cafe, bakery, Redcliffe’s restaurant and Coles, as well as the golf course and Ranger Red’s Zoo and Conservation Park.

Mandurah is a 20 minute drive away with large shopping outlets and an array of cafes and restaurants. The beaches along this stretch of coast are stunning and well worth a visit. There are plenty of local nature walks as well as the historic Coopers Mill to explore. South Yunderup also offers an amazing kids adventure playground and supermarket.

But you honestly will not want to leave the property once you arrive, River Cottage is so idyllic. Don’t pass this one by!

Perfect river getaway
When arriving you are greeted by a gorgeous little cottage with edible garden in the front and river along the back. Lots of ducks and birds to keep you company, just remember the mozzie guard. The cottage is tastefully decorated and very comfortable, light and a lovely breeze when you open the front door and back sliding door. Very quiet locations one my 15 mins to Mandurah or Pinjarra. We will definitely be back 🤗

Peaceful mini-break
Cute cottage in a lovely location set on an offshoot of the Murray River. Neutral decor, period features, comfy beds, huge stove, good shower. We spent nearly all of our time on the lawned area outside (on our own chairs), watching the ducks & birds and kayakers. It is a quiet section of the river so you don’t really get boats passing by. The front garden is lovely to wander around - lots of pretty flowers and fruit trees out the front. A tip for summer - pack the aerogard. The mozzies were out in the day time as well as night. There were some things that would have made our stay more comfortable - especially handrails on the front and back stairs. My 79 yo mum couldn’t go down the back stairs due to no handrails and I managed to stack it one night on the back stairs when taking the dog out. As short people we struggled to reach cups, glasses & plates and stood on a chair to reach them. A step stool would be good, or storing the crockery lower down or on cup hooks. The main bedroom had bedside lamps but they were not wired up and without globes. It would have been good to have functioning bedside lamps in both bedrooms. We found it a bit hard unlocking some of the doors; labeling the keys would reduce confusion. All in all a nice spot and bigger groups would likely make more use the verandah with its large bbq and table. We recommend this for people wanting a break away in a secluded location. I’d love to come back with a friend some time in the future, it would be really lovely in winter with the open fire.
