  • Tucked away on a peaceful farm near Newlyn and Penzance, Pedney Shepherd’s Hut is a gorgeous Cornish retreat surrounded by lush sub-tropical greenery. Stone steps lead to a private garden with chiminea and BBQ, perfect for relaxing under the stars. Inside, handcrafted wood detailing, a log burner, Smart TV, and dining area create a cosy feel. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room. Nearby are vineyards, gardens, coastal walks, and the charming villages of Newlyn, Mousehole, and Penzance.

    Pets: 1 pets permitted. Please advise the Luxury Coastal team directly if you would like us to host your pet after completing your booking. A charge of £40 per pet per stay/week will be applicable and required before your stay. We will arrange and invoice with you directly upon booking confirmation.

A tropical delight

We loved Pedney. The small garden is a tropical delight with various seats well placed in the sunny spots. The “shepherd hut” is of course small but also very well thought out to make the most of every inch of space. It has been created with flair, comfortable and luxurious with everything you need including a comfortable bed, a powerful walk in shower and a well equipped kitchen. And all of this comes with a basket of goodies to eat and drink - a great welcoming gift. It’s in a great location with much to do. Lots of good walking coastal and otherwise. There are many beautiful coves in the area and some stunning gardens to visit. Buryas Bridge is also close enough for a day trip to St Ives and of course a visit to St Michael’s Mount. Some unexpected highlights were discovering Newlyn, Marizian and Tremenheere Garden. Highly recommend this place to stay

Short Winter Getaway

The owner has personally built a superb shepherds hut escape . Hut was of the highest standard and thoroughly thought out . Shower was a delight , bed very comfortable. Kitchen well designed in a limited space . This hut has two comfortable chairs to relax in . Wood burning stove was not lite as property was so well insulated . Outside was so well designed, in the summer would be perfect . Close to A30 so some noise which for me was noticed as I live in the countryside without background car sounds .

Pedney Shepherd's Hut is located about 50 yards off the A30, around 6 minutes drive from the centre of Newlyn. It is set back from the road up a few steep steps which led into s semi-tropical small garden. Occasionally some traffic noise can be heard, but it didn't disturb me and I'm quite sensitive to traffic noise. The fixture and fittings at Pedney are first class. Is everything brand new? It looks it. In particular, I loved the shower - hot and cold water immediately available and at a high pressure. The bed was comfortable and there was some room for storage. The kitchen area had everything one needs to prepare food on holiday. The outdoor area had several tables and chairs, and a barbecue if one fancied doing one - we didn't. During our stay Cornwall was, like the rest of the U.K., experiencing a heatwave. The location of Pedney gave some wlecome cooling relief to the heat. I've stayed at a Stein's Shepherd's Hut in Padstow last year and enjoyed it. It was well-appointed - Pedney is even better. For anyone who hasn't stayed in a Shepherd's Hut the clue is in the name. Don't expect laods of space, and if you're claustrophobic it's not for you. For one or two people (and a dog) I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Loved staying at this Shepherd's Hut! We wouldn't normally book a 'hut' but were captivated by the photos and liked the extra space with a separate sleeping section. Stayed 5 nights. This is a special place with it's private, secluded garden and attention to detail. Beautifully laid out, very clean, comfortable, and everything you need - plus a welcome pack! There is a stone path and steps to the property which is quite magical but might not suit everyone. Host provided all details in advance with a local contact if needed. Don't let proximity to the main road put you off - an occasional sound of a lorry or motor bike but otherwise so quiet and relaxing. Close to Penzance with it's fabulous, independent shops, galleries and cafes and Newlyn with galleries and amazing seafood shops, fresh off the boats. Lots to do in the area. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.
