We are located in a safe cove perfect for children to swim safely without heavy boat traffic We provide 3 kayaks(one is a double kayak for 2 people) and a stand up paddle board, floats, noodles, corn hole for your lakeside enjoyment. 2 Dock tables with many chairs for eating, chaise lounges for sunning. There is a community boat ramp very close to the house(2 min away) for putting your own boats and jet skis in the water as well. If you need to rent a pontoon boat,ski boat, or jet skis there is a boat rental company thats a 5 minute drive from our home. They will deliver your boat or jet ski to our dock free of charge if you mention our home. THE LAKE Smith Mountain Lake is a popular destination because of its natural beauty and endless activities: swimming, fishing, boating, tubing, waterskiing, wake-boarding, eating out at restaurants off the water and on the water, visiting wineries, listening to bands/music, hiking, mountain biking, putt putt, rock climbing, going to the movie theater - you name it and we've got it! We provide an owners guide book which provides complete information about where to go and what to do around Smith Mountain Lake. There are 2 national chain grocery stores close to our home- one is 15 minutes away the other is 20 minutes away. Wal Mart is 20 minutes away. There is a small market/gas station 5 minutes away. The lake has many restaurants and marinas on the water that you can boat to. We have always enjoyed boating to eat out on the water. You also can drive to many restaurants by car within 10/15/20 minutes as well. Like wine? There are many local wineries within easy driving distance to visit and enjoy. There are also lots of hiking and biking trails too. THE NEIGHBORHOOD Explore our lovely and safe upscale neighborhood with our 10 bikes. The neighborhood has an extensive road network and has very flat and gentle terrain for exploring. Our front yard has a gentle slope and is perfect for kicking the ball or playing croquet(set included). We do not allow pets in our home, but there are several boarding kennels nearby and we will provide this info if you need it. We also do not allow bachelor or bachelorette parties, as we want to preserve the integrity and quality of our home and respect our neighbors and our neighborhood. Smoking is also prohibited inside the home. Reminder -Full week rentals during the peak season(Memorial Day- Labor Day) should be Saturday-Saturday please. The house was wonderful, large enough for all 16 of us and for those to escape if needed. Easy access to the lake with a wonderful dock. Plus there is shade on the dock. There is plenty of space for everyone. The dock equipped with 3 kayaks and a stand up paddle board is loads of fun. The location makes it easy and safe for kids to swim and enjoy the lake. Docking the rental pontoon boat is easy too. The hosts are exceptional and respond immediately to any questions. This is highly recommended, and we would stay there again. We rented a pontoon boat a couple of jet skis, a wakeboard and a huge 3 seater tube. We made the most of our water activity time and everyone slept well at night! The home has a great kitchen, wonderful table seating and comfortable family room for enjoying each other’s Company any time of the day or night. The seven bedrooms and bathrooms afforded each family privacy to escape the crowds to their own space when needed, or when little ones had to nap. We all enjoyed the porch for sunrises and sunsets, the fire pit for s’mores and the fabulous first and top floors for the children to play. The first floor has a ping pong table, pool table and foosball table and the top floor had a Stage, puppets and doll house. Every aspect of this house was enjoyed! I was impressed with how the kitchen was stocked. There were plenty of pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates and cups. I also liked the added safety feature of having a switch on the counter top that allowed you to turn off the dishwashers and garbage disposals. I did not have to worry about our grands accidentally turning on the appliances. We found the bedrooms, bathrooms and powder rooms to be well stocked with all the necessities for the week. We had one minor issue, we could not find the ping pong balls or balls for the pool table. The owners were very quick to respond and sent staff over to give us a supply. ##### Janice M. Owner did not have a pest control company rather he sent glue traps via Amazon. Never caught rodents. Outside porches and boat house area were filthy bird droppings ad spiders. The kayaks and paddle board were a nice bonus. We all enjoyed the convenient boating access and swimming from the dock.
