Right up against nature!
We were amazed at the sounds and sights while staying here! So many birds, monkeys and even an otter came to visit the pond! It was fun playing in the pool and the rain! Not too far from La Fortuna and small convenience shops at the end of the road. The kitchen isn’t really suitable for cooking for a family and isn’t very well equipped so probably best to eat out or make snacks only. The AC worked well and we enjoyed our stay here! Would recommend 😊👍

La Fortuna!
Great property! We just returned from a week long stay. The location is great, close to town but just far enough to have amazing wildlife visit the house! The street is safe and paved, there is an elementary school on the corner, 2 small Eco resorts and private houses on the street. Traffic is minimal. The views of the Arenal Volcano from the driveway are amazing! Speaking of wildlife, the backyard has a small river and then nothing but acres and acres of natural rain forest. Duing our stay we had Tucans and McCaws in the yard, Iguanas, Aguti's, flocks of parakets, birds in every color of the rainbow and we even saw a small Caimen (alligator) sun bathing on the island in the pond! We didn't see any Monkeys but on a few nights sitting outside listening to the rhythm of the jungle we could hear them in the distance. We visited the week of March 2nd and the bugs we not an issue at all, we sat outside at night and there were zero nuisance bugs, no mosquitos, none! We couldn't believe it, especially being from Minnesota we thought the bugs would carry us away at night. During our stay we visited the beach town of Samara and surfed, visted Rio Celeste, Monteverde Rain Forest, the La Fortuna Waterfall and the Mistico Hanging bridges park! The facilities at the La Frotuna Waterfall and at Mistico Hanging Bridges were fantastic! If you can go do so. We had a great time in Costa Rica and the location of the house made it that much better. A. Hill & Family - Minnestoa

Beautiful surroundings
We loved being able to enjoy the indoor and outdoor amenities of the property. After a long day it was nice to come back to a private pool. We appreciated the explanation of the different types of trees and plants and enjoyed sampling some of the fruits! It was perfect for our family of 6.

Great property
The property is great, the pool, the creek, the island, the animals, the hammock. All great. The only draw back is the size of the kitchen, it’s a little small to cook a full meal for 9 people. But you have plenty of restaurants choice in town.

Unique property!
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids ages 12 and 14) enjoyed our three nights at the jungle villa. We spent each morning relaxing on the porch after breakfast while looking for wildlife. We saw macaws, toucans, and iguanas all from the rocking chairs. We explored the property and were thrilled to find a river. We saw poison dart frogs near the river, a highlight for our boys. The pool was perfect to cool off. And the island swing was a fun spot too. We ate most dinners in town after our activities. We did a kayak river float, hiking the volcano, the hanging bridges, and the waterfall. Slept great with A/C. One of the showers didn’t have hot water and the other one was luke warm. Check in process was smooth. Also the owners were very accommodating when we had to adjust our travel schedule due to illness. They saved our vacation and we are beyond grateful. Overall this is a great spot if you want to get away from town and have a unique experience.

The property was absolutely beautiful, so much to see! The location was great, not too far out of town but absolutely quiet and peaceful! The host was also incredibly nice and helpful. Wish we could've stayed longer!!

Secluded nature
If you're visiting Costa Rica to get close to nature this is a great place to stay. We saw many tropical birds (inc, toucans), lizards in the trees, howler monkeys in the jungle behind the property, snakes, etc. The pool is refreshing to cool off in the humid days. There are a number of great places to relax outside of the home, hammocks, rocking chairs, etc. The home is basic, the a/c units worked great to cool the bedrooms, we were surprised there was no oven in the kitchen (advertised as fully equipped). Overall we enjoyed our stay. Check-in and communication with the property management were great.

Awesome place and location just 10 min from main city!
Everything was great starting from check in and check out. Kids and us loved swimming in pool, watching fish in ponds, and hanging in hammocks. Beautiful and quite place far from neighbors. We had 2 families with 8 people total and really enjoyed our 4 days stay. Rates for additional activities ( Baldi hot springs, tubing) through the agency were great as well and they accommodated us well in last minute! Communication was very fast and pleasant.

Loved the pool and neighborhood
Home is in a nice, quiet neighborhood surrounded by trees. We loved being greeted by birds and wildlife. We loved the outdoor pool! Even swam in the rain! Not far from the town. Great for our family of 4. We used 3 of the 4 bedrooms. It was great to have indoor and outdoor dining tables, comfy places to sit on the outside wraparound porch and inside, a full kitchen with supplies. Host was available if we needed it. I had trouble with the washer/dryer but I may have been pushing the wrong buttons since Spanish isn’t my first language. They were helping me through it (and talking me through it). Thank you for a great place!

La Fortuna visit
Our hosts were so kind and helpful after our arrival in Costa Rica was delayed and our suitcases a day late. They waited for us to check in and met us at the property because it was already dark. They communicated directly with the airline to have our bags delivered to their office. It was such a huge relief to be taken care of after 36 hours of travel. The property was beautiful and our only regret was that we arrived late and had an all day tour the next morning so we didn’t have time to appreciate the setting. We would definitely stay at this rental again!

Beautiful setting close to La Fortuna
Our family of 6 (my husband and I, and our children and their spouses) stayed here for a week between Christmas and New Year's. We've stayed at a number of houses around La Fortuna over the years. This house had one of the most beautiful settings. The grounds were large and beautiful, with lots of different kinds of birds, coati, howler monkeys, etc. The pool was nice and clean. The porches were were big and wide and located on three sides of the house, so we had lots of room outside to relax. We would have given 5 stars, however the house does need a few updates. The mattress in the master bedroom was fine but the other full-size mattresses need to be replaced. There was one new small sofa in the living area--we would recommend replacing the old orange sofa and chair as well. Also, the kitchen does not have hot water, so it made it more challenging to wash dishes. Overall, the property is very good. With a few small updates it would be spectactular.

Just what we needed
Peaceful, very pretty. Saw birds every day and even an iguana a few times. Pool is not large but perfectly refreshing after a day of hiking. The property is a few kilometres from town so you'll want a car. Can't say enough about the property managers, very helpful.

This location is conveniently just 10 mins or so outside of the hustle and bustle of restaurants and shops, but still near all the hiking, tours, etc...

Amazing house
Beautiful house! When you go in gate there is a pathway so the house is private surrounded by so much beautiful greenery! The pictures on this listing don’t do justice, you have to rent this house it’s beautiful. We had a group of 7 and we never felt crowded there is plenty of space.

Great private house
Casa cacao is a wonderful House. And the landscaping is amazing. How about 4 miles or so out of town on a little rural road. But it's paved. Very easy to get to and from. Very quiet. Lots of birds we had fun watching the toucans. Also listening to the howler monkeys the only saw them once. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful Grounds!
We really enjoyed our stay at Cieba Pond. It was close to everything in La Fortuna, but far enough away to still be private. The house was very nice and quite comfortable. The bathrooms could use some updating and we did not have hot (or even warm) water during our stay. We loved the pool and it was fun exploring the grounds and seeing the fruit trees. There were lots of birds, which was a big plus for us. I would definitely recommend this place, but check to make sure the water gets fixed.

Gorgeous Setting
If you go to Costa Rica to relax in a beautiful outdoor setting this is it! The property is beautiful with a pond, lush surroundings, fruiting trees, wonderful birds, and crazy natural sounds! The pool was great to have in rain or shine. The house has a wonderful veranda on 3 sides with rocking chairs, picnic table, and hammocks. That is where we spent most of our time talking and reading. There is also covered parking, and a charcoal grill. The reason for the 4 stars is two fold. The interior of the house was very clean but also very sparsely furnished. A few night stands with lamps would go a long way to avoid stubbed toes at night. Also the kitchen is very basic. There were no towels to dry dishes, limited glasses and utensils, a few very worn out pots and a pan. It does have a decent set of sharp knives. This home seems to be targeted to families so a fully stocked kitchen is needed.

Relaxing Rain Forest Getaway
The house and surrounding yard was gorgeous. We enjoyed the views from multiple porch swings and chairs. The pool was clean and used a lot by our family. Eder was very easy to get a hold of and helped us book tours. Our family of five definitely recommends this casa en la selva trópica.

Beautiful property!
The Ceiba Pond property is why I am giving this 5 stars, the grounds are beautiful. The fruit trees, wildlife, and overall serenity of the property are second to none. We enjoyed picking limes for cocktails! We saw more wildlife on the property than we saw at the Hanging Bridges - toucans, blue jean frogs, howler monkeys, and more. The house was nice, clean, and checked most of the boxes for our needs. The bedroom accommodations should be corrected - the rooms that list 2 beds are really bunk beds. This was unexpected and ultimately didn't work for our group of 10 people so top bunk mattresses needed to be moved to the floor. I would definitely stay at this property again and recommend it but not for groups of more than 7-8 people. Great price, convenient location, andaccomodating host!

Perfect spot for our group
Our group of 8 (four adults and four teens from two families) had a great time in the Arenal/La Fortuna area and loved the Ceiba Pond house as our home base. It was comfortable, clean, and had the most beautiful grounds. Coffee from the wrap around patio overlooking the pond each morning was a relaxing way to start each day and the pool was perfect for evening games to burn off the teen energy. The Home Vacations team (especially Allen and Eder) could not have been better. We really appreciated their tour and restaurant recommendations--especially because they made it easy and booked them for us! Thanks so much for a wonderful, memorable stay. :-)

The location was great, easy driving access to most all activities in La Fortuna.
The property was beautiful. The house was well kept. The only surprise was there was no running hot water to the house. The showers had a water heating shower head that warmed the water to make it bearable. The shower head in one of the bathrooms did not work so we only had one shower. The pool was great and clean, the pond made for a terrific setting.

Amazing flora and fauna - Beautiful!
Each day I could hardly wait to explore the garden and ponds. There are fruit trees, stunning flowers, animals. We saw iguana, brightly colored birds, a Jesus Christ lizard, and even a poison dart frog. The porch on three sides of the house was a favorite spot to relax and listen to the tropical nature sounds. We heard howler monkeys nearby in the pre-dawn hours. Yes, I would love to return to this house and property! The pool was wonderful, too!

Just perfect
We were a little skeptic about it, cause one of the reviews said there was no hot water. We had hot water, the house, surroundings ...just perfect. The only thing that was not working properly was the AC in one of the bedrooms, but it did not bother us. It will definitely be our pick, next time we go to La Fortuna

The outside grounds were awesome. We loved the pool, pond, gardens and huge porch. Wonderful for families. Indoors could use some updating and cleaning. No hot water in bathroom sinks or kitchen sink. Needs a functioning BBQ. We enjoyed our stay.

Our group of 5 thought the property was stunning! However, the lacknof AC and fans that worked in only 2 of the other rooms, it made for uncomfortable sleep. As well, the bathrooms were not as well kept as other aspects of the property. Upgrades in the cooling system/options and bathrooms would make a big difference. The gardens, pond, river were the perfect spot to observe nature and we loved that part.
