Pekin Holidays from £962

I arrived at 2 PM to check in and they told me my room was being cleaned and that check-in is at 3pm. I returned around 4 pm and they asked me if I received a message from Expedia. SUCH COWARDS! They wouldn’t even say what the message said. I opened up my email and 26 minutes prior. There was a cancellation message that they could accommodate me. I read it aloud and I said does that mean you don’t have a room for me even though when I came at two, you said you were cleaning it. They acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and just kept saying that they didn’t have a room. They were slimy and clearly gave my room away for a better rate. But it was probably a blessing in disguise because the grounds were absolutely disgusting and the hotel looks abandoned and nothing like the pictures. There’s a big empty pool with junk in it. And the whole building looks like it’s falling down. It seems like it’s a family business and they function on being deceiving.

This is an incredible experience, excellent design and fun place to stay. The onsite bar was cool, and the service friendly and happy, but be prepared for a leisurely dinner.

It's an old mansion, so there are multiple level of stairs up to the front entrance. The breakfast was included and they were great! Our room was spacious and bathroom recently updated. The only negative I can think of is the room was chilly and there is no thermostat. The heat and A/C are centrally controlled. We really enjoyed our stay. The bathroom was nicer than our more expensive "suite" at the Hyatt Regency in Niagara Falls!

The staff were helpful and welcoming. The room was very large for our family of 4 and we really liked that. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. I would have liked hot chocolate because I don't drink coffee. Everything was great.
