As a Part of the Eurostar tunnel strike, we unexpectedly wound up in Calais and were well taken care of by this no frills hotel! Lovely basic breakfast - I’ve not seen a “cook your own egg” set up -along with fresh bread, pastry, yogurt and juice.
I’ll definitely return to Calais and to the Hotel Brit.
The hotel is located in a good area where a shopping mall is within walking distance.
The night staff member (tall man quite sluggish with glasses) was very rude, Full of attitude and just ruined our mood. He rudely shoved our wine glass and beer towards us which nearly tipped over.
However the trip & hotel was good. Bed was a bit squeaky and scared if the bed would break due to the noises it made.
All day time staff memebers where extremely nice & helpful except for the night time staff member. Ideally should be spoke to if not fired for the way he speaks to not only myself but other people I’ve witnessed
An ideal stop over for the quick traveller.
Very clean, quiet, and the staff very obliging and helpful.
The best hotel I've stayed at when passing through Calais !
Really handy hotel in a Calais stop over, just because the price was great value for money the room was adequate in every way. There was a shopping centre car park just down the street for secure parking but there was street parking available but a one way road system which complicated things
Absolutely worth the money. There are lots of inexpensive accommodation options in Calais but from previous experience, I urge “buyer beware”. Calais is awash with nasty, dirty, small and sleazy hotels and eateries. The Brit Hotel is by no means luxurious but it represents good value for money and service with a smile - a rarity in Calais.
Nice setup in very good location. We were five adults over three rooms. Two of the rooms also shared a small ante-room which both could open with the keys. It meant we and our son could move privately in a family space. We had a doube, he had a single. Mother and sister-in-law were on the same floor. M-I-L is disabled so a room by the lift was handy. Only beefs were the lack of coffee/tea making facilities or any fridge and a big coffee spill by the lifts while we were trying to get out to leave. Easy enough to drop our stuff off out front and park the car down the road a little way in the shopping mall.
The receptionist was very helpful. He/She speak english.
Very helpful. But the cleaness of the hotel is average.
The bathroom need renovation.
Bit noisy. Need Double glaze window.

Great location for an overnight stop on the way to the channel tunnel.
Hotel is basic but clean and well located. Staff unhelpful and had to wait for receptionist to finish a personal call before I was checked in. Rooms are dated but ok for a couple of nights.
