Bed bugs, noise, but good service.

Posted 09-Mar-2017
Pros: Close to major transportation. Bathroom was nice but small.
Cons: The maid cleaned my room everyday, even though I put out the do not disturb sign.
Location: The metro will get you anywhere.
My room looked nothing like the pictures. It was very small, but no big deal. The bathroom was nice, but also small. When sitting on the toilet, my knees were under the sink. The noise was horrible. My first three nights were filled with yelling, laughing, banging on walls, furniture being moved and just chaos. The walls are so thin that cigarette smoke came drifting into my room. The worst part was the bed bugs. No, really. I caught three and gave them to the manager. Upon my first inspection, I didn't see any trace, so I wasn't worried. But when I woke up with bites all down my right side, I knew they were there. The manager was very nice about it and refunded part of my stay. I was in room 231.

Apart from checking-in and 'free breakfast' there was no information about the services at the hotel. We had a blocked toilet and there was no one to help.

Not a great place to stay

Posted 06-Mar-2017
The entrance looks Morden. The moment you go towards the inside looks so old and has never been maintained. The lift is so small. Never seen such a small lift in my life. Not a great place for the price.

Economy hotel .poor internet

Posted 23-Jan-2017
Cheap hotel.very good and friendly staff who could speak English. Small but decent rooms. Hot water not always working whixh is a problem if traveling in cold months. Internet very very poor in rooms.a bit better in lobby. Breakfast was basic but good enough (crossoints, one with choclate filling too, bread, yogurt, cheese, butter, jam, nutella, honey, cold pork slices, fruit cocktail ) No eggs and no fresh fruits.had coffee machine with hot choclate. Also various tea bags) Surrounding area had many many east indian shops (jewellery. Clothes and very good indian food).was not harassed by anyone but was still vigilant . Hotel close to subway (la chapelle) 2mins away

Good hotel with two assets.

Posted 28-Nov-2016
Pros: As above
Cons: Possibly redecorate
Location: As above
Good hotel right next to a metro station and a short walk from the major Gare Du Nord. Bus stops spitting distance both sides of the road. Plenty of local shops that all take cards and we even used the hairdresser 10 seconds walk away. Decent coffee machine for only €1. Very good and friendly staff. Our second visit this year and we will be back. Excellent value for money overall facilities.

A box room

Posted 01-Nov-2016
Pros: The bed wasn't too bad, and the shower worked. There was hot water...
Cons: Tiny room, shower leaked too much it flowed out of the bathroom and into the bedroom.
Location: Guard du Nord is not a place to get back to the hotel late at night...

Not all it's cracked up to be

Posted 15-Sep-2016
Pros: Quite a convenient location, near Gare du Nord station
Cons: The breakfast! The Wifi! The rooms!
Location: Hold on to your belongings!! A big station (Gare Du Nord) so lots of things accessible!
Very mixed feelings about this place! We went on a work trip and after reading many other reviews thought we might have found a hidden gem! The hotel overall was not terrible, the staff were very friendly and helpful- they gave us a converter plug in our time of need! But the room was very different to what was described... The first issue we had was the lift was broken, and we were staying on the fifth floor- going up the dark stairs (because most of the lights were broken) was not a nice start! Secondly, one of the rooms we stayed in, the bathroom door would not shut- it was lucky we were not sharing this room and that could have been awkward! Wifi was less than average- sessions timed out after 24 hours and the connection was very mid 00s Overall, as we were not there a whole lot of the time, it was standard. The breakfast choices were very limited- a bit of fresh fruit might have been nice to try!! And the croissants warmed up would have been preferred! The area was not as nice as we expected either- we witnessed a few things that worried us, and were constantly warned about pick-pocketers in the area, I do not think we would stay here again. Also, the taxi to the airport was very extortionate, paying 55 euros for a 25 minute journey, we believe the hotel kept 15 euros for arranging our taxi? What a joke!!
