My stay at Hotel du Metro
After I read the initial reviews and seeing how it looked, I was pleasantly surprised to see a cute hotel in a bohemian area with nice service. It’s a bit noisy in the morning because of the housekeeping. Other than that very ok for price and comfort.

Small room like every other hotel! We had shower and sink inside the room but not a toilet! It is a share toilet and sometimes it is not very clean which is understandable because of all people in the hotel ! People at the front desk are nice .. the hotel is close to everything and it is in between 2 subway stations.

You get what you pay for
You get what you pay for, 1/3 of the price of surrounding hotels.. what to expect? Toilets are outside the room, one of the toilets had no toilet seat. Shower..water pressure pathetic and was a handheld shower only as the holder had been ripped out of the wall. The beds were ok though

Central Paris hotel, value for cost.
Minus points: Old and you can hear when people come and go due to the doors needing to be slammed hard. The café across the road started playing loud music which lots of people sang to from 11pm through to 5am. There was a lot of noise. Plus points: This was not repeated Saturday or Sunday. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was adequate for my needs - like having a single room in a hostel. Shared bathroom was no problem for me. I was staying in central Paris on the cheap for three nights. The hotel was more than adequate and only a 10 minute walk to Gare Du Nord. WiFi was also fast.

It’s bad, really, really bad.
This property should be taken off of the website. Shared bathroom, but that means only toilets. THERE ARE NO SHOWERS AT THIS HOTEL ONLY TOILETS. There is a sink in the room for bathing, but NO HOT WATER. There were toenail clippings on the floor. The blanket was dirty. The sheets were clean, but the pillows made me feel like things were crawling on me. Took the pillows off of the bed and the crawling feeling went away. Had to laugh about the big flat screen TV in the room, of which there was no outlet to plug in. I thought that was funny. Even at 40€ per night, this place was was too expensive for what it is.

The hotel is noisy, the shared bathrooms are dirty, some don't have locks on the doors, and only one of them has a shower. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I am not happy with my stay. When I arrived, the room was not ready. Even after the bedsheets are been changed, the room had not been cleaned and the floor in particular was quite dirty. I will not come back.

Okay price quality ratio
The location of the hotel is excellent to go and see Sacre Coeur Cathedral by foot! The hotel is not the cleanest, however, we didn't mind it to much as we paid such a cheap price. The gentleman who stays at the reception at night was very helpful and friendly. So if you're looking for an affordable place to sleep, this is an okay choice, however, if you're looking for a romantic time in Paris, I'd stay somewhere else.

SMALL AND QUIET
A small,quiet hotel near metro Macanet/Poissonniers.The room was small and clean with large corner windows.The family were helpful and the room was cleaned daily.There were many local bars and restaurants and Metro lines 12 and 4 gave access to further trips.Buses pass nearby to go to Gae du Nord and Gare de Lest. The rooms have acesss by a spiral staircase with no lift for the infirm but I would definetly stay here again.

This is a hotel that precedes star ratings. Hotel has no bath at all only shared toilettes that at times clogged. Spinning starcase and not elevatores. Forget carrying anything but a backpack. This not a hotel for the new age. Not up to standards.

Nice hotel
I booked through e-bookers two months in advance with a request for a room at the lowest floor - we are of age above 70 and my sister has problems with her knees, she walks with a stick. But for unknown reason my request didn't go through... Maybe it was "lost in translation"... And still, after the frustration of having to climb for the first night to a room on the upper floor, we were pleased that the staff did their absolutely best to solve that problem as soon as they could. What is good: location - next to metro with two lines. Several nice cafe nearby. Quiet street. Very helpful, nice staff. Small but clean and cosy room What is not so good: spiral stairs with narrow steps - if you are of age, you should request the lowest floor. No toilets in the room, and to reach a toilet you have to go several steps down the staircase. But the price is reasonable and you can forgive the inconvenience of the stairs for it. Of course, if you are younger than my 73, you will not even notice it. I would recommend this hotel for younger friends.

AFFORDABLE HOTEL CLOSE TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT
I stayed for eight nights and the staff was always friendly and helpful. The room was small, but was cleaned daily. The fact that the room did not had its own toilet, was a bit uncomfortable, but not the end of the world! There are more then enough eateries in the vicinity and on some days, there are even a kind of a fleemarket down the road, around the corner!

Piétons in this area might cause you to faites attention. I stayed for 28 nights from December 2016 to January 2017, one of the coldest periods of the last 10 years. There was an issue the first 4 nights with insufficient heat from the radiator for my fifth floor room (no elevator) and as a result I came down with a head cold lasting about 10 days. Street views were good. Summer might produce a more positive experience. My room was then changed to one on the 3rd floor with more than enough radiator heat. Bring/buy your own body gel soap, shampoo, tissues. Metro station "Marcadet - Poissonniers" a block away serves lines 4 and 12. These lines take you easily to the 1st arrondissement where you can visit the Musée du Louvre, walk around the Jardins Tuileries, Concord, and on to the Champs-Élysées; or Île de la Cité to visit Notre Dame de Paris and enjoy some chocolat chaud, vin chaud, or crêpes from one of the many cafe/street venders. I used Metro week-passes (~20€). Half a block from the hotel there is a cafe where you can get a breakfast under 4€ comprising a decent cappuccino and one from variety of their croissants. Walk 2 blocks farther to a different access for the same Metro station and find there FranPrix supermarché: before 16h30 buy a prepared hot food to go for about 4€. In the other direction from the hotel, 1 building away is a very clean and small self-service laundry that wasn't busy (8€ for larger capacity washing machines).

the staff are very disorangized in regards to bookings and i had to tell them where i booked for them to find my booking. going up the stairs to the top floor felt like climbing mt everest. the room was big but looked really tired and there was no toilet in the room even though i had booked a double room with bathroom. I didn't know a bathroom excluded toilet or the ad should say something about 'shared toilet'. they said they had no rooms with a toilet - all rooms have shared toilet. the internet was good and hot shower. as the price was low i rebooked the hotel a day later and when i returned they said they were sold out and did not honor the confirmed hotels.com booking for me (nor for other guests) as they were overbooked and took on walk-ins who paid more. so even if you book, you might not get a room. staff are nice family but the hotel is not run well. There was no waste basket in the room either & the toiletries left there were half used & linen poor.

Only stayed there for 1 night. Very good location, very close to metro station. Quite a few restaurant nearly and Carrefour also not far away. I stayed in a single room which got a sink in the room, need to share the bathroom with other, but i didnt use it, so no comment on it. There is a wardrobe in the bedroom, but it was quite dusty. Everything is fine if you just want a bed to sleep. Nothing complain for what i paid for.

On morning I was leaving I had to spend about 30-40 mins trying to get back into my room as the lock would not open. Very frustrating. No help from member of staff who could only recommend doing it slower. Was the only member of staff and he had a heart condition so received no help at all trying to get it open

Clean, Budget hotel with Helpful Owners
I encountered a problem with my reservation at the hotel and the staff/owners did everything to help me even though they were full and were not expecting me. I think I was given the spare room on the top floor, which was rather dated but clean, so difficult to say if this is the standard of all their rooms. There is a spiral staircase which goes to the 5th floor it is very steep and narrow, so I was glad I had only hand luggage. This is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for, but it is clean and the staff are helpful. I would stay there again.

A thoroughly sub-standard excuse for a hotel. Reeks of cigarette smoke throughout. No toilet in bedroom. Shower taped up, broken and non-functioning. Washbasin and shower coated with hairs. Dirty towel on floor, and dirty glass on washbasin. Stained bedding. Wifi not available past the second floor. No lift, and access to rooms only via rickety old spiral staircase. An absolute horror of a place with unhelpful staff. Unpleasant, unhealthy and potentially dangerous. A disgrace. I did not stay for even one night and had to find alternative accommodation.

Worse than a shelter place!
The room is very small. It provides nothing, even no single plastic cup for brushing teeth! The beds, table and other poor furniture and pillow cushions are like picked from streets and trash can! Not exaggeration! There is no toilet in the room. You must share it with others at the half level between two stories. If your room was located at higher level, you almost can't carry your luggage up to your room because the stairways are so narrow and small! This hotel(if you want to call it H O T E L) was runned by unprofessional family members! After all, it is a very unpleasant place to stay! Not worth your money, even it is cheap!

Easy to find, but on entrance I was queried the rate with the Receptionist and the Hotel owner. They couldn't believe the cheap rate I paid. I explained that it had already had been paid for with Hotels.com, but they still couldn't get their heads around the fact that it was cheap. Anyway I told them they had to take it up with Hotels.com and that they had to honour my booking. Anyway after 10 minutes of confusment, I was given a key to a "prison cell" so to speak.. Up old dangerous spiral stairs to a room with no room number. It was absolutely literally "a cell". The bed had missing support slates to keep it up, so the bed collapsed. The Single bed was from a bunkbed. Personal hairs were found by the wash basin, the floor wasn't hoovered, the bin was stained badly, no pillow or mattress protectors for the bed. Burnt sheet on my bed. The balcony view was the best part and I slept well. I didn't know rooms still existed like this. I was happy to leave and never return. The Hotel Owners and Management must of lost the plot to keep this hotel afloat. Never ever again, very sad place. I wouldn't of paid the asking price for sure! Hotels.com should take this place off its website.

L'hotel é in un ottima posizione, ad 800 m circa dalla Basilica del Sacro Cuore e a pochi passi dalla metropolitana che ben collega l'hotel con il resto della città. La struttura rispecchia il prezzo che si è pagato, io e la mia ragazza avevamo un bagno privato che comprendeva lavabo e doccia mentre il wc era in comune... La nostra camera veniva pulita ogni mattina, il letto messo a posto e il bagno in camera pulito quanto basta per mantenere l'ordine... Diversa é la situazione per il wc in comune, uno su ogni piano, dove abbiamo notato in alcuni casi l'assenza di carta igienica e una notevole scarsa igiene, aspetto sicuramente migliorabile, magari pulendolo più volte al giorno. Il personale é gentile e cordiale, mai avuto problemi!

J'ai aimé pouvoir entrer dans l'hotel assez tard le soir. J'ai aussi aimé la localisation près d'un métro et de pouvoir aller à la basilique du sacré coeur à pied, surtout que la basilique ouvre tôt. J'ai moin aimé l'eau chaude de la douche qui était long à venir. Je n'ai pas aimé de ne pas avoir de déjeuner, bien qu'il y avait une boulangerie situé de biais à l'hotel.

Ci sono poche cose che funzionano in questo hotel, e quelle poche dipendono solo da fattori esterni ovvero: vicinissimo alla metro (30metri) e un'ottima pasticceria/bar proprio di fronte dove poter fare colazione. Il resto è tutto un calando senza fine. Solo la camera tripla ha il bagno (intendo con WC) privato, le altre hanno solo doccia e lavabo. Le porte e le maniglie, le prese elettriche, le scale e mille altre cose cadono letteralmente a pezzi (non è un eufemismo). Sono fornite esclusivamente le cose basilari: un letto (se vi va bene matrimoniale se no a una piazza e mezza) e l'acqua corrente. Spesso manca la luce senza un apparente motivo. Per concludere: il prezzo è effettivamente basso (e meno male!) e se proprio non avete alternative, ok, dormite qui, ma io non ho avuto il coraggio di entrare per intero in quella doccia!

Het hotel heeft een praktische ligging, maar de trap is onveilig, de kamer is niet schoon, er zitten gaten in de lakens, het matras is zo dun dat je de harde houten planken eronder voelt, de douche was stuk (de douchekop is op ons verzoek vervangen, maar de houders was nog wel stuk), het toilet zit halverwege de trap en er was vaak geen toiletpapier, de kamer werd pas schoongemaakt toen we weer vertrokken en het personeel is erg vriendelijk, maar spreekt geen woord Engels.
