Great location, puny bathroom.
The room size was ok, but the bathroom was ridiculously small. I realize this is Paris, but better planning when constructing rooms might have been a good idea.

Clean and comfortable rooms, though the carpet in the stairwell is very worn and could use a good cleaning. I initially thought the reviews complaining about the showers were dramatic, picky travelers...until I experienced it. The hotel is still a great value for the price but the showers are an issue. They are so tiny you cannot even turn around without the curtain sticking to you and bumping the water handle, changing the temperature to super hot or cold on accident. I'm not a big person and it was impossible to avoid this. My husband is 6'5" and it was a complete joke for him. We still appreciated the overall value of the hotel, but hated the shower situation.

A lovely old classic French hotel. Steeped in history. Friendly lovely generous staff. Small rooms. In the heart of the Latin quarter. I would live there if I could.

Not what was showing on the website, they give us a smelly room with with a very tiny shower that I couldn’t fit and I’m not even 6 ft tall. I understand that is a very old building and everything is small but that shower was beyond ridiculous. I asked the clerk if is possible to change the room and they said no. Not recommended at all.

The room was exceptionally small, no air on but had a window to open for the night. Location was great in the Latin quarter, but there were other hotels I think I would have paid a little more for and felt more comfortable.

Great location close to bus to Eiffel Tower.
Great location, you can take the bus number 82 straight to the Eiffel Tower (a couple of blocks away at the Luxembourg Gardens bus stop, about 30min ride). It is a simple hotel but a great budget hotel, I really like the place and the 24 doorman is awesome. The only comment is on the shower, it is a bit small. I recommend it.

The reservation was another day. Expedia didn't handle it well. I made s ckaim to cancel the reservation right away but Expedia refused to listen. I will never ever use Expedia again. I have no problem with hotel clunny since I never went there.

I stayed at Hotel Cluny during the Paris heatwave - had only a small fan in my room, and it would have been helpful to have another fan or one that was larger. Room was small but provided for all my needs, a lovely place to stay. I would stay here again!

Great location but Grubby hotel in poor condition.
Staff at front desk very nice. Building works going on in hotel. Has to be done but should have advised guests in advance..started at 7am with drilling and never stopped until 6pm for the 3 days I was there. No air conditioning. Grubby property all round. Dingy small rooms. Eating area and all round in poor shape. Barely passes as a hotel. Not in good shape outside either. Much better hotels in the same area. Sorry to say but def Would not recommend !!!!

Bonjour M. Alan We thank you for taking the time to write comments about your stay at the Hotel Cluny Sorbonne. We apologize for not meeting your expectations. About the building works there must have been a misunderstanding. There hasn’t been, and there are no building works at the Hôtel Cluny Sorbonne. However, it is true that the building works conducted in a neighbour hotel, sharing the same courtyard with our establishment, were very disturbing for our customers. This neighbor hotel didn’t warn us at all before launching the works. Our mistake was that we didn’t react promptly enough to warn our clients of what was about to happen. About air conditioning, Hôtel Cluny Sorbonne has never claimed to offer airconditionning. Moreover, it should be said that among the 72 hotels of all categories in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, only 3 two stars hotels have air conditioning. But they are much more expensive than us, and not necessarily as central as the Hôtel Cluny Sorbonne. Air conditioning is the rule in the 3 and 4 stars hotels, the exception in 2 stars hotels. Moreover, the building of Hôtel Cluny Sorbonne is a classified building. Public regulations on the building are very strict and restrictive. For example, we are not allowed to fix external units of the air conditioning machines on the street “façade” of the building. Respectfully,

This is a tiny hotel in a great location. There is a teeny tiny elevator for a bag and a person. Room was clean and a good size, bathroom is tiny. We found it within walking distance of a ton of restaurants, the metro, and within a mile a lot of historic areas. The neighborhood around the hotel is cute. There is no air conditioning but the price was perfect for us so we were ok!
