Nice, clean and easy as a base for exploring Paris
Great overall experience with this hotel! In traditional European hotel style compared to the American standard, the place is somewhat small - but that's okay! The hotel staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful, everything was clean and orderly, and the overall feel was rather quiet. This part of Paris is less tourist focused than other parts, and walking out from the hotel you can tell that year-round Parisiens live nearby and are the majority of this local population. The hotel does offer a breakfast for an additional price per person everyday (it's ok, but we preferred a local cafe).
The main avenue closest to the hotel offers plenty of local cafes, brasseries, charcuteries, and fresh produce on the open street. There are convenient "pharmacies" nearby to help you purchase those small items that are inevitably forgotten in packing (sunscreens, headache medicines, allergy remedies, etc.). There are also quite a few small clothing shops with a variety of styles and prices nearby to help you augment your wardrobe with real french attire if you packed for weather that didn't end up happening as you planned.
Several main intersections and locations are easily within 15 minutes walking, where you can catch major bus routes and metro stops to connect to the rest of the city. Taxi's are very easy to find on the main street nearby. For example, taking a taxi from the hotel all the way to the Eiffel Tower on the complete opposite side of the city ran me about 18.50 euro.
