Location was perfect. Well priced for Paris. Room was tiny, no air conditioning and noisy if window was open.

I have several photos that I took from the room at the Avalon. I will be glad to share these photos with you if you care enough to respond about my experience during this stay at Avalon Hotel in Paris. It was the worst HOTEL I ever stayed in, honestly, no exaggeration here. My son was with me and his nose was bleeding from excessive exposure to heat. Cracks on the walls right above above the bed and many areas with peeled paints. Bathroom is so dirty around the toilet and inside the shower. The ventilation opening is broken and on the floor against the wall next to the Toilet. The water in the shower disposes slowly... most of the time you are standing in a pool of water while you are taking your shower. The only reason I booked the Hotel because it is near "Gare du Nord" and because it has an air conditioning unit. However, There is an Air-condition exist in the unit but it is not-operational. I called for help to turn the unit on and raised the issue with management at the help desk, but was told that Air Conditioning unit were installed a year ago but not operational. My stay was a very hot day in Paris well above 90 F. You must keep windows open, otherwise you get roasted... then it is way too noisy and very busy area, people on the streets, cars never stops passing by, train, subway, all kind of noises that you DO NOT GET any sleep. As a matter of fact, we got 2-pairs of sealed "Foam Ear Plugs" orange color to use for noise. I Don't have more space to write.

Gare du Nord Station 5 Minute Walk

Posted 15-Aug-2018
Pros: The Avalon was easy to book online and to do a late night check in. During my stay I encountered 6 desk staff all whom were very helpful & friendly.
Cons: Housekeeping. The second day I was given all decaf coffee. There were details that would have taken less than 5 minutes to make the room really nice.
Location: If your looking for out of the ordinary clothes shopping this is it. Open air and shops. Loads of Cafe's. Fantastic unique photography opportunity.
Excellent Value on a budget! Gare du Nord is in the10th Arr. and the busiest Station in Europe. Away from the ritzy experience. The hotel is one of the cheaper hotels and for the price it's a great value. It had a little kitchenette, that if you wanted to stay for a week or more on a budget. This could be a great fit for you. It also offers breakfast in a nice dining area, very reasonably priced. The decor is relatively new. Trendy good vibes kind of feel. Avalon offers a Lift/Elevator. Important to know for the tired and weary traveler. There are two entrances. If your walking from the station it's fine, you'll see the main entrance. But if you take an Uber, they tend to drop you off at the back door, that you can't access without a key. When your facing the door go to your left and walk around to the building to busy street side. There you will be welcomed in.
