Paradise Beach

This rugged, crescent-shaped beach is a natural paradise with golden sand and shallow lapping water.

True to its name, Paradise Beach is breathtakingly serene and beautiful. Slow down and recharge on this blissful stretch of coastline, where turquoise water laps onto the curved shoreline and rocky points and sandy hills border the sands.

A haven for those who love the sea, Paradise Beach is a place to unwind and reconnect with nature. The calm water makes it a great place for families with children as do the convenient amenities. Sun loungers, deck chairs and shade umbrellas are available for a small fee and there are showers and toilets here too.

Arrive early during the peak summer seasons and settle in to your spot on the sand. Bring a picnic and an engrossing book. Relax on a sun lounger or spread a blanket on the sand. From your position on the shore, you’ll be able to gaze out to the horizon and perhaps even see the small mountain island located offshore.

If you’d like to exercise, arrange to play a game of beach volleyball on the courts next to the taverna. Throw a Frisbee or join in a game of racket ball. When the wind is up, windsurfing is a favourite pastime among beachgoers. When it’s calm, don a mask and snorkel and go in search of colourful fish.

Walk the length of the beach and examine rock pools and look for the pine and olive tree forest to the west. Eat at the tavern on the beach or cool off with an ice-cold frappé or beer at the bar at the south end.

Nearby accommodation includes self-contained and serviced apartments, resorts and hotels. Many of these places offer spa and massage treatments and have excellent in-house dining.

Situated on the east of Thasos, Paradise Beach is 14 miles (22 kilometres) from Limenas and 2 miles (3.5 kilometres) south of Kinira. A local bus stops at the path that leads to the beach. While there are three car parks, parking is still limited. To get to the beach, walk down the narrow pathway through the woods. Note that the path is quite steep.
