The breakfast was good, lots of choices but the WiFi does not work in the rooms . The location is very central and close to a lot of things but they do not have a clothes iron. The staff said they offer ironing but only in the morning and I needed to iron my shirt at night so I had to go without. The rooms were clean but the bathrooms were a bit dated and had mold on some of the tiles .

Breakfast menu was unparalleled. So many options on the buffet, all delicious, and the menu items are prepared to perfection. The staff is warm, attentive and kind. The property is beautiful, with superb design and attention to details, surrounded in lush greenery. The pool area is so luxurious, we didn't want to leave it. I would heartily recommend.

I had an oceanfront room and this was an exceptional stay. From the check in assistance by Julia at the front desk, to Gustavo at my check out, I had an amazing stay at Grand Hyatt for 4 days and I'd definitely be back here again. I am very sensitive to noise and even though the oceanfront room is by the avenue, the soundproofing of the balcony door was so superb, once you close it, the whole noise of the outer world is away from you. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was spacious and so was the room, giving me plenty of space to move in it comfortably. The housekeeping was incredible, I am already a very tidy person but when I came back to my room, their touch made things even better than I expected. I loved the fact that the portion of the ocean this hotel sees is much more calmer than most beaches of Rio. I also stopped by Canto for lunch once and a drink when I checked out, and the server Monique was very helpful and warm. Overall, it's been a great experience for me. I was a solo, woman traveller. Would highly recommend this place to anyone interested.

I will start by saying the hotel was in a great location. Being right there on Ipanema beach and just steps away from the beach. It was located near many restaurants and local stores. The staff were welcoming and all were very helpful throughout my stay, making me feel like I was on vacation. However, I have stayed at many hotels and the amount of money I spent on the Lux Vista Mar Panoramico was not worth it. The room had this weird smell. It smelled like urine. The room was very outdated. The only thing good about the room was the view. Also, there was construction going on so from bright and early every morning on my vacation, I could hear banging and knocking. The walls are very thin, you can hear people talking on the beach, playing music all night and the room is on the 15th floor. So let’s just say, I barely got any good sleep. There wasn’t an iron in the room, waited an hour to get one and when I did get one, it was broken, the water poured right out. There was a used towel in the bathroom when I first arrived. The elevators took a very long time to come and the breakfast options were limited. I couldn’t wait to leave that hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Overall, the hotel was below standard, more like a 3-star hotel. Room was very small. Bathroom more like the size of a closet. Hot water took 10 minutes to get warm. View room with a window whose outside has not been cleaned in a few years - more like a dirty blurred view of ocean. House cleaning service timing abominable. Told to clean room every morning after 9am and be finished by noon; had to practically call them every day after returning to room around 4pm to get the room cleaned. Everyone was always very courteous and obliging, however, their follow-through was very poor. I have to rethink my Marriott and Bonvoy usage. Corporate is quick to raise rates, but the hotelier is failing miserably to maintain, let alone improve, standards. Will probably advise associates and friends accordingly via social media. Regards.
