Something for Everyone

Posted 02-Dec-2015
Stayed at Elysium for a 4 day long weekend. Hotel complex is extremely clean, very friendly and lots of helpful staff. Dont be put off by the size of the place, it is a large complex but designed so that there are lots of smaller interconnected wings which makes for a very private and quiet stay. Double rooms are a really good size and would recommend the ones with a balcony looking out over the sea. Sockets are all UK 3 pin type. Outside spaces are again well designed to give lots of smaller terraces and divided off areas so quite intimate. Private beach front is a bonus! It is located in the purpose built Tourist area but it is only a 15 - 20 minute walk to Paphos old Town and 5 minutes to the old archaeological site. Lots of places to eat and loads of local car hire booths along the main road in the 'Tourist Village'. My only negative comment would be that it would be nice if they included a toothbrush in the bathroom. So not much to find fault with!!

Excellent hotel in every way . A perfect place to relax and enjoy . You need not leave the hotel but if you wished too Paphos is very excessable by bus or for the more energetic an excellent paved path from the hotel into Paphos harbour . Lovely walk right by the sea . Do take a torch . Takes about 30-40 minutes if strolling .

Lovely resort in Paphos

Posted 28-Oct-2015
Location: Many tours leave from Paphos, more than from Ayia Napa. If deciding between the two, I'd stay in Paphos. Hotels also seems to be of better quality.
Stayed here in early Oct. 2015 with two friends in one of the Cyprian Maisonettes (two levels with full bath and couch/single bed downstairs, and queen bed, walk in closet and small bath upstairs). Hotel and grounds were well kept, clean, charming. Hotel has spa, several restaurants, bar, coffee bar, multiple public spaces, large pool area with loungers, and private beach with loungers. Breakfast buffet is really nice, lots of selection including made to order eggs and convenient hours. Also a very helpful concierge to help arrange outings. Walking distance to Tomb of Kings (10 minutes along main road) and to Old Port (25-30 minutes on seaside path).

Superior hotel with friendly staff

Posted 19-Oct-2015
Pros: Staff excellent - friendly and always helpful
Cons: Room/ corridors now slightly dated - I believe hotel was built about 12 years ago and some refurb now required to maintain its star rating.
Location: On edge of Paphos with little of merit close by although Tomb of Kings worth a visit if you like that sort of things and a couple of good restaurants.
If you have not been to Paphos before, this hotel is a little way from the main tourist areas of the harbour/prom/restaurants (and other hotels) being about 45 min walk along a seafront footpath - great at sunset. Taxis are readily available and buses. Close by are one or two good restaurants but the surrounding area is not as good as the hotel. Next to it is the Tombs of the Kings - but you would hardly know and the so called old town is about 20 mins walk uphill. It is a large hotel adjoining a not particularly attractive small beach (some gritty sand but mostly rocks in this area) but with plenty of space in its own gardens and around the swimming pool complex. Other amenities you would expect for a hotel of this class - but it is really a very good 4 star. Whilst there was a range of nationalities staying it had a British feel whilst we were there.

Really enjoyed our stay, just had bed and breakfast.Evening entertainment could of been better the cocktail bar was empty most evenings? Also the hotel is quite expensive, 5 Euros for a bottle of water same as a beer, most cocktails and shorts were close to if not more than10 Euros.

Outstanding!

This was our second visit to Elysium and it didn't disappoint. The food was fantastic, the hotel was spotless and the service from the staff was brilliant. The location isn't too bad but doesn't match the class of the hotel, however the drinks at the hotel are expensive when compared to the local bars if you wanted to venture out.

Service with a smile

Posted 09-Oct-2015 on Hotels
Our stay at the Elysium was wonderful! Every bit of service was made with care. Starting with the concierge that greeted us and helped introducing the hotel to us, the waiters in the dining room, restaurant and pool - all were smiling and willing to pamper us with kindness. The cooks at breakfast that prepare the omletts were also greeting, warm and hospitable. The room was very clean and had everything we needed was there without hassling us with asking for it. The only disapointment was when we were told that we couldn't extend our stay at the room. But then we met Irina which made it possible without moving us to another room. With Evdoxia, they found a way and made us very happy. Thank you!
