We had a great week at Gulf Crest, after having to cancel other anniversary plans due to bad weather. This condo was wonderful, comfortable bed, nice furnishings, great kitchen necessities and a fantastic balcony!!!! Easy check in and communication with owner. Loved having beach chairs including as well. Ice maker wasn’t working but they did attempt to repair ASAP. The part needed to be ordered so it never did work. Shit happens. Regardless our stay was pleasant. We plan to return. The unit itself is a little dated but it is very spacious and clean upon our arrival. Location on Thomas Drive is convenient and perfect for families looking for nice beachfront accommodations but want to stay away from the traffic and congestion of Front Beach Road. The included beach umbrella/chair service which was great and our unit also included a variety of beach stuff for use (bodyboards, skimboards, coolers, folding beach chairs, etc.) The 40 foot balcony was awesome and a great place to unwind after a busy day at the pool/ocean to enjoy coffee, drinks, and meals. Our main complaints were that the newly delivered brand new mattresses in both bedrooms were rock hard and very uncomfortable to sleep on. I know it will take some time to fully break-in the mattress but it will still likely be hard because I suspect these are "firm" rated mattresses since firm ones tend to last longer in rental units than soft ones. The second complaint is the the built in bunk beds behind the dining table are dangerous in their current state because there is not a safe method of accessing the top bunk. There is a small 2 step folding stepstool provided but it is way too short and requires that the person standing on the top step jump up into the top bunk. A child getting out of bed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom without a safe step down is just asking for trouble. Probably not an issue for older or taller kids but if you have kids 8 years old or younger beware. Booking the unit online was seamless and Eileen was super communicative and responsive to my inquiries.
