This hotel was incredible. Great property to walk around but what really made it stand out was the staff. The host that greeted us (Ana Maia) was incredible. Went way above and beyond to help us print boarding passes. She was so friendly, helpful and did everything she could to make sure our stay was felt special.

Obviously the setting. The castle, the old convent, the room and view in the evening at sunset and the sunrise. Unforgettable.

A great little hotel, with wonderful food, a stunning 360 view, friendly staff, and a historic castle to explore. Great for kids! Very close to airport and beaches too!

Spent just the one night here at this amazing old convent in a castle. Perfect distance to Lisbon for airport access next day after our time on the algarve. Rooms modern and tastefully decorated. Food of high quality and extensive menu options. Perfect change up for our last night in Portugal. Would recommend.

Naturally beautiful castle retreat for when you need to recharge. Excellent hospitality with helpful staff attentive to your every need. Abundant and varied breakfast. We would readily return. Not for travelers seeking nightlife.

Wonderful place to stay.
Room and areas of the hotel were chilly but it is their winter. It was very quiet. You could not tell there was other guests in the next room. Food was abundant and fantastic. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.

This was probably the highlight of our trip to Portugal. It was wonderful staying in the old monastery and touring through the castle. If you are not traveling by car it can be a bit of an adventure getting to the Pousada. We took the train from Campolide on Feftsgus. The fair was 4.65E. When you get off though your are not close to the Pousada. It would be better to take a bus from Lisbon (Orient). It is 4.50E. Takes about 15 minutes longer, but you are much closer to the castle. You can walk (it is steep) or grab a cab for about 3.50E.

Family Trip to the Lisbon Area - Loved the Hotel!
We had a really great stay at this hotel. For kids it was magical to be next to a castle. The views were incredible. The breakfast was delicious. Our shower wasn’t working when we arrived and it got fixed the next day while we were out. That impressed us too. Dinner options were limited for kids but we made the best of it. Only downside was that the beds were really hard and the coffee was bad at breakfast (also there was no in room coffee available).

Unfortunately we missed the Medical Festival
Our stay at the Pousada de Palmela was fabulous, however getting there was tricky!!! We would not recommend using the GPS when trying to reach the property, the roads in town are extremely narrow and hard to navigate. The staff was very friendly and the service was wonderful. Our one regret was having to leave the day before the Medical Festival!!!

Fun to stay in this castle perched high on a hill with pretty views! The hotel is technically in the former monastery attached to the castle, but grand nonetheless. Enjoyed exploring all the grounds, climbing to the castle’s keep, and heading to dinner along the water at a fishing village suggested by the concierge. Friendly front desk staff.

I don’t know where to begin. The room was huge with the most wonderful view of Palmela. Fernanda, Antonio, and Hugo were all excellent in helping us navigate Palmela and Lisbon. The breakfast was perfect. It is right next to the castle so it’s very easy to walk around and explore there. If you’re looking for a unique experience this is the place.

Quiet break in the hills
Nice spot if you want some quiet time. Walking and mountain biking. Setubal and Sesimbra a 30/45 min drive away. Breakfast was disappointing although dinner was good.
