Je suis resté deux nuits à l'hôtel. La première fut quelque peu difficile, alors que ma chambre au deuxième étage donnait directement sur la rue où circulent sans arrêt des véhicules. Ayant le sommeil léger, il m'était difficile de dormir avec le bruit même en ayant des bouchons dans les oreilles. J'ai demandé le lendemain s'il était possible de changer de chambre et on acquiesça par bonheur à ma demande. Celle-ci était située au cinquième étage plus vers l'arrière de l'édifice et c'était littéralement le jour et la nuit en comparaison de la veille. Fraîchement rénovée, la chambre correspondait à celle que j'avais vu sur le site d'Expedia et qui m'avait incité à choisir cet hôtel. J'ai non seulement apprecié ma nuit de sommeil, mais aussi la vue vers l'extérieur. Parmi les bons points de l'hôtel, il y a la gentillesse du personnel et le buffet déjeuner qui est plutôt varié. Bref, si vous avez la possibilité de choisir votre chambre, optez sans hésiter pour celle au cinquième étage, d'ici à ce que le vitrage des anciennes chambres soient renforcés.

Incredible! Highly recommend the BELMOND experience for Cusco. It is right in the city centre and has such great history attached to it. I also recommend the spa, we did the three hour mother / daughter experience and loved it.

Formerly a Viscount's residence, the photogenic Costa Del Sol Cusco sits in a great location, walkably close to the center of a beautiful city. Meals in the hotel restaurant and at the breakfast buffet were fantastic. Staff were very helpful. Our room had uncomfortably overstuffed pillows that might have been designed by the Spanish Inquisition, so thick they threaten to break your neck. In fairness, my body was getting used to the thin air in Cusco and that also played a role in my restless night. The bathroom exhaust fan rattled noisily, but the air conditioner's rattle was far worse, indicating a low standard of maintenance, which was surprising for a hotel of this caliber. Local attractions: We hiked around an amazing Incan ruin called SAQSAYWAMAN, elevation 12,139 feet (3701 meters), and later, back in Cusco (elevation 11,150 feet) my wife suffered a severe bout of altitude sickness. With the dry air, maybe dehydration also factored in, but suddenly at dinner she was hammered hard when a massive headache and multiple attacks of nausea struck. I have three suggestions to help you avoid altitude sickness: 1) don't fly to Cusco directly from Lima. First visit Arequipa at around 7000 feet so your body can gradually acclimate to Andes' elevations, especially if you live near sea level as we do; 2) you can buy little bottles of oxygen at any pharmacy, and those really help when you're struggling for breath; and 3) they sell altitude sickness drugs at every pharmacy.

Beautiful views and well situated on top of a hill. It was very cold. Radiators are only on 6pm to 6am. Heating was inconsistent on second floor - stayed in apartment and suite and requested heat turned on numerous times. The Pres Suite (Expedia promoted as 1 left and there is only 1) is right above a music conservatory who practices from midday until evening, except weekends. Staff is very accommodating and they make a great latte. The streamed jazz in the main hall was a plus. Ample teas and things to make altitude adjustment easier.
