The Log Cabin on 8 acres
This beautiful log cabin was salvaged from another location and re-constructed by the Amish builders in Montana. The cabin sleeps a total of 4 quests, two in the loft and two on the queen sleeper-sofa in the living room.
Welcome to Moon Mountain! The scenery in Washington State is spectacular and Mt. Rainier National Park (The Crown Jewel) is a 15-minute drive to the Stevens Canyon Entrance from Moon Mountain.
Surrounded by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, a 45-minute drive to Mt. St. Helens National Monument and a 25-minute drive to White Pass Ski Area.
Enjoy a two-mountain vacation from our location and see both Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens.
We have three cabin rentals on 8 acres with the most beautiful park-like setting. Each cabin is privately situated with shared common areas; a community firepit, a Koi Pond and big fields to play outdoor games with your family, friends, or your dog.
Each cabin has its own picnic area complete with firepit, lawn chairs and picnic table. Our cabins are equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay with us. Fully equipped kitchens, linens, bath toiletries, BBQ’s, board games, books, cable TV, DVD player, shared hot tub, and the beautiful outdoors.
Living in the mountains can have challenges that should be expected by guests. In the event of inclement weather, we will do out best to keep the driveways and walkways clear of snow as quickly as possible. In case of a power outage, we have a generator to keep the well pump going so that the cabins will have running water until the power is restored. We do not have a generator to provide electricity to the cabins but each cabin has a wood stove and we will provide firewood in case of a power outage. We do not refund because of acts of nature including storms, air quality from forest fires, etc. that are out of our control. We will do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Exceded our expectations in every way. The cabin was so clean and comfortable and we were the only guests on the property. We really enjoyed the hot tub after long days hiking trails in the nearby parks and wilderness areas. We saw elk in the field behind the cabin. We’ll definitely be back.
Great quiet location and base for exploring the Mt Rainier National Park area. Comfortable for 2 people. Lighting maybe needs upgrading as it was quite dark inside. Other than perfect for a short stop off in the area
Cozy cabin. Hostess thinks of the little things you might need from bandaids to flip flops for the hot tub journey. Very clean. Quiet neighborhood. Perfect location for rainier visit.
Wonderful little cabin to get comfortable after a day of hiking in Mt. Ranier National Park. Had just what we needed and close to Parkwood to grab a bite to eat.
This cabin is a perfect balance of rustic looks and modern amenities. WiFi was better than most hotels and kitchen had everything you need. Really nice relaxing spot just a little outside of Packwood.
We had a fantastic 3-night stay in this quintessential log cabin! Well equipped, nicely furnished and exceptionally clean. And it’s pet-friendly! We highly recommend this cozy retreat!!
We had a great time staying here! Very clean and cozy cabin! Loved that you feel out in nature but close to town. Cabin had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend :)
This place was absolutely perfect. It had everything we needed. A great little get away place. Debbie is very helpful and friendly. Hope we can stay again.
We stayed in the Log Cabin and it was adorable and cozy! It felt very rustic but we still enjoyed having the full kitchen and tv to watch. Cannot beat the proximity to Mount Rainier and the town of Packwood had some nice little restaurants. Debbie was very helpful with check in as well.
It’s was pretty clean, in a quiet area, other than dogs barking at times. The cabin itself is darling, was perfect for hubby and myself, and dog. We loved visiting Mt Rainer-breathtaking area. I wished we could have stayed more days.
This is a lovely spot with all you need - firepit, hot tub, cozy home.
Host was a great communicator and accommodating early on with a date change. Would highly recommend!
Cabin is great and super cozy with an open layout. Had a good couples weekend getaway with our dog. Hot tub was just 20 paces away in its own lighted gazebo and in great order. Bed and furniture were very comfy and host very communicative. Five minutes tops to town center and the main highway.
This is a cozy log cabin in the woods. It is very charming and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights there. We went skiing at White Pass, which was about a 20 minute drive. We will rent this cabin again!
This accommodation was quaint, rustic looking and clean. It is close to eating establishments and the ski area. We would stay here again. Wwould stay againnd clean. It is cl toeatingose
Cabin was EXACTLY as pictured and just as clean as it is in the pictures! Everything was there for grilling and cooking, and we had the best time both at the cabin and hiking Mt Rainier!!! The coffee that’s there in the cabin, Mountain Goat, is absolutely delicious!!!
Such a nice property and excellent location for Mt Rainier National Park. The owner was super accommodating, including installing a new smart TV so we could stream movies at night. Packwood is a small town but we found several great places to eat. Easy access to either Paradise or Sunrise areas of the park. If we make it back to this area we won’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend!
So nice to awake to elk checking out your vehicle, and feeding the Ravens left over scraps. I enjoyed strolling the property with the dog off leash to test him. My wife was impressed with how clean and well maintained the cabin was. This just might be our favorite thus far.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Pleasant cabin made less pleasant by smoky fires next door
The cabin was cozy and clean, though a bit tight for the three of us. Communication and check-in were excellent. The cabin is set on a property with other houses/cabins and it feels less private than we were expecting. Unfortunately, for two of the days we were there the neighbor had large brush fires going which led to large amounts of smoke inundating the cabin and property for two straight days. It would have been nice to know ahead of time to expect that, as we may have changed our plans for those days or shortened our visit.
